IIRC, I paid S$130~ for 2 years extended warranty from Canon. Got a free 50mm f1.8 in return.

I think it was $150 or $200 as I remember it was a small amount after deducting the 50mm value. Saves a lot of hassle down the road if you keep the camera for longer than 15months.

I know it certainly saved me some money on AF check and also some hot pixel issues just this past December after the first 15 months had passed.:sweat:

Also, it would make for a quicker sale if you decide to let go of the camera down the road. :dunno:

checked it's $350 for 2-year extended warranty for 5D MKII, but nowhere mentioned there'll be a free 50mm F1.8 lens leh.

Yes, it was a promo. IT was during one of the computer fair period, which so far I've seen it happen only once after I bought mine.

It really depends on what you deem as being 'value' lor. The $350 is still less than 10% of what you'll pay for the camera body, so if you can find the promotion at the right time, all the better. Think it will probably pop up in late Feb at the next computer fair. So, would probably be worth checking out the deals if you're not in a bad hurry ? :think:

And also, probably by then, the prices would have fallen another notch of 3-5% ?? :sweat:

guess I'll wait till price drop further, as I have cameras to use now. Hope by May the price can drop another $500 so the saving is just nice to exchange for 2-year extended warranty.

I also thinking of waiting, but the shops have been telling me tt Canon & Nikon will be increasing their prices this year. They say even newspaper reported already.
Shld I wait or buy now ? Arggghhh:think: !!

I'll wait, anyway camera is luxury item, not as essential as rice etc. so I rather keep my cash if they really increase prices this year.
