anyways, regarding the photoshop thing for the bridge shot, i posted up a guide, i'm not sure if you seen it before, but it can be found here:

most of it's got to do with correcting perspective, etc, when you don't want the effect.

i might ask you about myanmar sometime next year or year-end. is that ok?

#40. Returning home

These monks are the same ones featured in #3. I kinda kept one eye on them to compose a shot by placing them at the thirds on the long straight stretch of UBein. I was blessed that there was nobody else in that section of the bridge when I took this shot.

#41. Company

The French couple behind had taken a photo of the monks from behind (I might've been in their frame :bsmilie and when they were checking the result on their camera, I composed this shot. Incidentally, I met the couple again in Bagan - at Pyathada after the eclipse and at Moon restaurant in Old Bagan.

There's another couple behind (the lady with the blue umbrella and red backpack and the guy in the purple tshirt) whom we had met the previous evening on top of Mandalay Hill :bsmilie:
They were from China, think from Shenzen...

#42. Reflection

Even though the sun had set, we were on such a high, that we didn't want to leave the place. We had a great time at UBein and it was quite a productive day. We asked the boatman to take us for a final look at UBein in the last light of the day. I upped the ISO and caught this frame. I wish Canon had better noise control at high ISO.

Incidentally, the French couple were in the boat that you see on the left. Looks like they too wanted one last look at UBein before calling it a day.

#43. Monks line up for food, while a photographer takes aim

This was one real die-hard photographer. Armed with remote flash, diffuser etc., the moment the monks lined up, this photographer got to work.

To paraphrase what Lonely Planet says about this monastery... "If you visit at about 11am, you can watch the whole monastery eating silently. (Try to refrain from thrusting cameras into monks' faces, as may visitors do.)"

#44. Dawn at GIC, Nampan, Inle lake

It was a struggle to pull ourselves out of bed in the chillness of the night to catch the sunrise, but it was well worth it. Just watching the darkness turn to light was so magical. The changing colors, the evaporating mist. Simply beyond words. I am sorry, my photos don't do justice to the beauty that's Inle.

#45. Classic Mingun Paya

Well, nothing classical about this shot. Simple, straight, headon. I realized the futility of rushing through Mingun. If we had more time, I would've spent at least half a day at Mingun. This would've given me time to explore different compositions.

Anyways, here goes...

#47. Morning walk

Every morning, thousands of monks all over Myanmar start their day with a walk. They go around asking for food and the common folk give (irrespective of their social status and capability to earn). I was moved to tears when I saw a lady living in a make-shift house with a thatched roof, stand outside her door with a big vessel of cooked rice, ready to give to monks who were queuing up. Never seen a nation/people bound by such wonderful faith. Such simplicity, such devotion. Every time I think of it, I fall in love with Myanmar all over again.
