I prefer models who are seasoned, who are professional in their approach to a shoot, and who can deliver the look that I want to shoot.

Personally, I prefer blondes, but nomatter how beautiful said blonde is, if she cannot pose, if she is camera shy, and if she is not into modelling, my camera will stay in the bag!

So i guess your camera stayed in the bag ever since..when was it the model posed for you? 1974?

It's generally true that in Asia, Caucasians would be seen as "exotic" and desirable although not every Asian would share that sentiment. The reverse is also generally true in western societies where Asians would be seen the same way.

However, I have good reasons to suspect that Asians aren't as "hot" in the eyes of many Caucasians as we might think. It won't be easy to discuss and debate this issue completely and convincingly but I will briefly list a few points down. (You don't have to subscribe to my observations/opinions although you might want to keep them in mind.)
Hun, this may be true for models, but if you're referring to Asians in Western countries in general, you obviously haven't seen/experienced 'yellow fever'.

Hot or not, asian or caucasian, it's all personal taste.

The reality is caucasians are preferred over asian models for commercial work in western countries. I don't know why that is (and I don't agree with it), but there is more to it then Jemapella has written.

I assume "yellow fever" to mean some kind of rave for Asians? If so, it may be (just may be) an overhyped thing, just like how most media overhype or exaggerate some reports, especially where statistical numbers are involved in the reports.

I don't deny that, away from the modeling world, there are some Caucasians interested in Asians. I personally see it every alternate day in Melbourne with cross-cultural couples. I also personally know of white men who want Asian girls, either as long term partners or otherwise.

In case this gets out of hand, I want to state that I'm not here to start an argument or fight. I may debate some, but neither keen on rubbing people the wrong way nor winning a popularity contest. I'm only voicing my observations and opinions.

Yes, it could be a matter of personal taste, and there's more to it than what I wrote but I didn't write for all circumstances and scenarios because I can't be bothered to write a complete thesis for a PhD award.

You are probably correct about Caucasians being preferred in their western societies. I won't debate that. However, look around Singapore a little bit more. (Maybe I looked around a bit more because I'm away for long periods of time.)

Last year, when I was on the ground floor inside Tampines Mall, I noticed several Asian and local retailers using Caucasians (or Eurasians) in their advertisement posters. I can't clearly remember which ones, nevertheless, I will try (again I emphasise that I can't remember so I'm unsure).

Try noticing the ads of: Giordano, Hang Ten, U2, G2000, Poh Heng Jewelry, Gold Heart Jewelry.

There may be more but again I say I can't be sure. Also, they may have changed since then.

In case this gets out of hand, I want to state that I'm not here to start an argument or fight. I may debate some, but neither keen on rubbing people the wrong way nor winning a popularity contest. I'm only voicing my observations and opinions.

Just doing some simple survey, to see if I can cater to the crowd. :)

With suggested approach from Canonised: What kindda "fruits" do you do you prefer for your shoots?

I expect a model to suit the casting/theme of the shoot and a professional attitude throughout the session. It's purely business.

For fun shoot, anything goes. ;p
