Artistic Nude

Photography is not a "imaginative" art as can be cinema or writing. It's a point and shot art, a photograph is a photograph, it shows what it shows.

This photo is "nude" for you because you made the shoot and the girl was nude. But for anybody who was not there, that photograph is not nude at all. The nude is in your mind, your art ... not mine.

Where did you get this ludicrous notion that photography is not an "imaginative" art?

Elsewhere, I had been accused of being an insecure person because I love to quote photographers who were and are respected in the world of photography. I am incurable. So here goes!

In the "ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY, 3rd Edition" by Bruce Barnbaum, a well known landscape photographer and teacher in the American West Coast, page 16-4. Other photographers had also said similar things in words and in their images.



I think the third paragraph from the above quote was written for people like you. Yes, there is a lot of photography which is nothing more than a point and shoot. But is that all it is?

Photography equipments and processes, like cinema equipments and the pen (or Microsoft Word) are but tools.

If a photograph is not "imaginative", it only reflects the non-imaginative mindset of the photographer.

Imagine you relate the story of that famous photography who asked to photography the ship and was paid 5 figures to do the job.... Hahahaha, where is the ship?
