AW style will always be stylish and entertaining but can be frustating to watch at times.. many games we could have won by 3, 4, 5 goals but end up losing by the 1 goal.. we need more entertaining and effective play though, perhaps a slight modification to game play only.

Definitely wont be Liverfool style zzzzzzz... or Chelski zzzzzzzzz boring play..

Hopefully Wenger would retain their style and able to transform Da Silva into another Henry...

Torres has joined liverfool. That guy is talented. But spanish players seemed to have a hard time adapting to EPL. Look at baptista

Baptista is Brazilian :)

Anyway one thing we know is AW will continue to make sure his team plays attractive football. He made a comment previously that teams need to entertain the people who pays their hard earned cash to watch them. Its their duty :)

In Arsene we trust ;)

kops fans

IT'S A HUGER PITY WE SOLD HENRY.

:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

No regrets that TH14 is sold, I mentioned before that his attitude wasn't right already.

AW made a bold move to sell TH14, at least that shows that AW has guts and that no one is bigger than the club.

I am looking forward to the new season, where the Arsenal will be fielding quite a few "unknowns" and the youngsters will be out to show everyone that they do not miss TH14.

Rosicky, Fabregas and Van Persie will be in my fantasy league team ;p

Cesc is now the vice captain of arsenal with gilberto taking over the armband full time .. is cesc too young to be the VC? tot maybe toures or rosicky (he's the capt of czech republic right?) might be a better choice.. maybe giving cesc the VC role is a move to convince him to stay.. same as what they did to henry even when gilberto appeared to be the better captain

tevez is gone to Man U ..

arsenal is quiet again on the newsfront ..

Arsenal buying Bakary Sagna ......

Liverfool snatching babel ... :o

WTH.. next season AW only plan to fight 5th place ?

no lah, i think fourth is realistic, spurs still got long way to go.

Relax bro, anyway most of Arsenal's dealings are kept secret until the signing is confirmed. AW doesnt want Chelski or any rivals to come in an sabo us.

AW's track record in the EPL is good. Spurs still have a long way to go to challenge Arsenal or any of the top 4.

Not too sure man even for fifth placing ... Chel$ki, ManUre, Liberfool, even Man CITY , SPURS are spending big on players... ;(

Recent years... AW purchases have been flops.... Hlep... Rosicky :dunno:

this coming new season again AW paying millions for average joes... from some mid table

team in other league.

With TH14 gone, u need someone with prestige to stablise the team morale...

Not some Tom mcmuffin, Dick Coockanathan, Harry SkooShooski that are playing in North

pole league

Hope AW dun sell Cesc in exchange for robinho.... damn the stadium

Spending big doesnt guarantee league placings.. i believe arsenal still have a powerful enough team to challenge the league (mustering all my optimism here as I type) - they only need to sort out the fumbling attack and unpredictable defence.. we have been crying out for an out-and-out striker to poke in all those rebounds and deflected shots so maybe Dudu can do that..

the only damnation i have right now is whether AW will sign the contract.. his inaction is causing so much hysteria, panic and confusion as to what the next day will bring.. this club needs the long term stability and AW knows that.. given the freedom that he has in AFC, i wonder what else can a manager ask for? the moment he signs, cesc will stay, more players will come (reyes to real for robinho + cash sounds nice) and the team can be focused

and oh, if we are putting a bumper deal for AW, why put in the 'get out' clause? to me, that's the same as no contract.. and every year, we will have to put up with 'will he go or will he stay' drama..

newcastle, man city, west ham, even aston villa are spending.. our 'rumoured' transfer targets are slowly being picked off one by one by the other teams.. the copa america would seriously jack up the prices of the top performers (which means AW would be in for them), i wonder who else is left to transfer..

and if the new champs lge format comes into effect where only the top 3 + the FA Cup winner goes thru, i think arsenal can start focusing on the FA Cup

btw, dudu is handed the cursed no. 9 shirt.. hope the curse ends here..

Arsenal snap up France defender Sagna from Auxerre for £7m

Woohoo!

No particular order, just some tots after reading some stuffs here and elsewhere:

1. I think Arsenal might be the "dark horse" in the coming campaign, everyone has been saying Arsenal will collapse (or something of that sort) with Th14 leaving. But honestly, TH14 did f-all for the team last season.

2. Arsenal was build around TH14 so much so that when TH14 had an off-day, Arsenal could not get the results. With TH14 gone, we are less predictable and have more variety in playing and scoring (I hope) - more goals from crosses yeah! ;)

3. Arsenal sold TH14 for 16.5mil, Manu sold RVN to Real Madrid for 11mil when RVN was the same age. Honestly I think Arsenal did a good deal.

4. Rosicky is a class act. I will always support him as he gave me my first "one nil down, two-one up" when I watched Arsenal at the Emirates for the first time

5. I think Dudu wanted the number 9. Shows his ambition to be the main striker in the team. Not afraid to face up to the expectations of being number 9. So far he's been saying the right things and I think he will adapt well since he knows what it feels like to play with thugs in Croatia's cold freezing weather.

Anyway I think its too early to be overly optimistic or pessimistic. I'll wait after the first ten games and see how Arsenal perform. No point doing all that chest thumping now (like in the other ahem threads when the season have not started). Have a great day Gooners! ;p

The True no.14 Replacement? Not Dudu as most thought he was...

Arsenal are set to smash their transfer record with the £15million signing of Argentinian striker Rodrigo Palacio from Boca Juniors.

The fee has been agreed between the two clubs and the 25-year-old is being lined up as a direct replacement for Thierry Henry and is likely to end up wearing his number 14 shirt as well.

Palacio, who had himself been expected to join Barcelona until they became aware that Henry was available, is due at the club for a medical on Tuesday.

His arrival at the Emirates Stadium will be something of a coup for Arsene Wenger as he is regarded by some as the best striker in Argentina, with 39 goals in 79 appearances for Boca.

The Riddle of the Right Back Solved

Arsenal are set to continue their summer clearout by allowing right back Justin Hoyte to leave the Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger will deem Hoyle surplus to requirements following the signing of Auxerre's Bakari Sagna.

:o :o Justin Hoyte leaving !!!???!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?

Rodrigo Palacio ......

Sad to hear another English player is about to be sold

Esp one that came from the youth ranks.... the only thing that I can pick on AW regime at Arsenal is, less English talents is coming out....

I'm just wondering if Rodrigo Palacio does indeed join, how many strikers do we have, and how many do we actually need? there's already Ade, RVP, Brendtner, Walcott, Dudu.. unless hmmm.. RVP & Walcott to move to the wings? which could explain why AW doesnt seem to be urgently looking for a winger..

btw, doesnt seem like there's many arsenal supporters here huh?

I think there are afew Arsenal supporters here, just that we are not the type that like to post for the sake of posting, backslapping each other, praising the club "this is going to be our year" ..etc etc...

I rather stay this way, when there's some interesting story or keen observation, we could discuss among ourselves... :D

i been out without internet for a few days...hehe...

this new signing of an argentine striker is new news to me, issit confirmed?

The transfer is not confirm afaik, but what i gather from the internet is the scout that spotted and brought Fabregas to Arsenal is evaluating him.

Some facts about Palacio. He's 25, 4th choice striker in Arggies squad behind Crespo, Messi & Tevez.

Freddie didn't fly to Austria with the Arsenal squad.. so he should be on his way out.
