Very nice! Thanks for sharing... I see that you found quite a few nice spot for shooting in Bagan. I just returned from Myanmar, so sad I don't have a long lens with me in Bagan. From your pictures I guess you were there in dec-jan? The sky was very dusty when I was there last week. Planning to go back and do Mandalay and Bagan again. Cheers!

Myanmar is worth visiting more than once. Hope you get your wish.

Thank for your comment. It was around August 2010 (Monsoon season) :)

thanks for reminding me how wonderful Myanmar is - was there 2 years ago. Love the friendliness of the people and the old word charm.

130m tall Standing Buddha in Myanmar

There is a lift inside the body of this statue which send visitors to visit each floor. I cannot remember how much floor in total.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Maybe some of the places are off the usual tourist track.

No wonder many western tourists are visiting Myanmar now. Boom town Charlie for the hotel industry there.

Hi Dave,

During my visit I used Tamron 18-270mm lens so I can reach almost anything. As Myanmar have a lot of beautiful landscapes I think having a wide lens will be more useful. The Giant Statue is located at Monywa Town which is about 2 hours ++ driving distance from Mandalay City. Monywa is not very famous tourist spot, but there are more to see than this Statue.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!!
