think i'll be stuck with 56k access =(

Just had a friend came back from the mow mow land (aka Gippsland) from a short vacation that the whole place now become a mini Chinese National Institution....lots of Chinese National down there as compared to the good old days where there are a better spread of culture groups/Nationality.

Good luck then. ;)

Disclaimer: No prejudice against any Nationality. One of the main factors of going overseas studies is supposed to get exposure to the local/multiple cultures, right? ;)

sweet.. was there for two semesters. (way back in the mid 90s)

then i moved up to Peninsula, Frankston and finally to Caufield.

u should have checked out whirlpool before u get your broadband ;)

In Australia, there's no such thing as value for money when it comes to mobile phone charges. Personally, I'm using an Optus Plan (for sms and the free phone calls to other Optus users between 8pm-12am every night), but I also use a Vodaphone prepaid to make outgoing phonecalls because of the cheaper rates compared to the other providers.

Yup, all incoming free. It's the outgoing calls that will kill you...for the prepaid Vodaphone I'm using for outgoing, it's 1 cent a second! At least there's no connection cost (flagfall) like the other telcos.

Yeah man.. and its not surprising to see people with mobile phones calling out from Public phones instead of their own mobile phones :D
