Are you going to buy E-P5

If I was looking for a pocket type of camera body and style was important to me, I'd probably go with the E-PL5 instead. I'd expect performance from a dSLR type model and get a Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 to complete the pocket camera set.

Technically, the E-P5 is appealing, but for that much money, I'd buy the E-M5 or its successor.

How abt E-PM2 vs E-PL5?

Also, u mean E-P5 is not as stylo as E-PL5?

The E-P5 was meant to specifically look like another camera, but the E-PL5 looks more attractive in my mind. If Olympus was to attract me to a small camera based on another small camera, the Olympus Trip 35 was the only viewfinder camera that I would be half inclined to buy.

The E-PM2 lacks external controls, which would be important to me, especially in colder weather when I wear gloves more than most people. The E-PL5 does better but is also not without controls.

I have yet to make use of the rear LCD panel, except for setting menu options. On my GH3, I can do that without the panel. I'd be fine with more physical controls and a smaller panel.

Easy to say NO now though buying is not always rational :bsmilie:

Olympus PEN E-P5 Hands-on Preview: Digital Photography Review

"Frankly, we're impressed - it looks as though the E-P5 is the camera we'd always hoped the PEN series could be, and Olympus has another winner on its hands to follow the E-M5. What the specification sheet and inevitable internet leaks don't tell you is just how refined it feels - construction is exemplary, the control dials rotate with satisfying clicks, and the shutter is quiet and refined like the E-M5's, rather than the loud clack of the E-P3. The new PEN is a serious camera, but one that has real charisma too."

Just tried the demo set @ CP during lunch and was very impressed with the build and the new EVF. They have black, white and silver mounted with 17mm 1.8 lens to try :)

Have you been poisoned today?

Have you been poisoned today?

:p

Gut feeling tells me I confirm will die from poisoning :( so far the EP5 really seems to have either met or exceeded all expectations. Siao Liao lar

Think I was very poisoned at the moment. I picked up the black unit and was blown off my its built. Full metal body feel. The VF-4 resolution is far far better than the current modesl. Body is slightly heavy than OMD which I used to have. Actaully, wanted to go for it but got to know its only pre-order so.... didn;t buy it. Waiting after pre-order is too torturing for me... prefer to C&C

So, it didn't take until the E-P14, as I laughingly stated when the E-P2 arrived. Thank goodness!

I can almost understand. I was holding a Fuji X10 yesterday and it felt very expensive, so it's time Olympus got to that point.

best price i got was from a popular shop in AMK $1930. other popular shop CA???? also got reasonable price.

Glad to see the EP5 is out. Hopefully the VF4 is out in stores too. Been holding off buying the VF2 thus far. The locking mechanism is a big draw for me. Time to call the usual stores :D
