unless of course there's a new 200 f2 in the works or even a 300 f2. Afterall, it is not impossible. Nikon once had a 300/2

This a great lens. Use it twice quite unforgetable experience. Great bolek and damn nice sharpness at F1.8 really have to be careful of DOF at F1.8. Dream of it but never have the cash for it. Hai:cry:

Found one in Japan. Anyone interested?

well I have to cover cost, it aint cheap that is for sure.

haha...certainly ain't cheap. Japan's great for finding rare stuff. But not the cheapest place to buy stuff that CAN still be found.

hahah yeah....so much great stuff that I can get here and not available back in SG. oh well I will have it for a week till the 15th.

Actually you'd be surprised at what one can find in Singapore, if one has the patience and nose to seek out the rarer things in life. In the case of the 200/1.8L, there are probably a lot more copies here than one would care to imagine, and most in pretty good shape from what I've seen.

might be true but then who would let it go in SG.

haha, a little birdie whispered in my ear recently that one went in Prime for 4K+++ and i believe the buyer was IDed by the bird too! haha....Good deals galore in sg, honestly, just need to be patient. One every few months if u can wait, bought a 300mm f2.8 at 1.8k once!

I think your statement is a little naive. There's always a need to trade items, it's just a matter of when. Like I said, there have been past transactions of this lens, here on CS and private sales. I think there is one other for sale here on CS as we speak.

The 200 is worth more to the US collectors than the ones here, you tend to find the guys over there paying a premium over what folks are prepared to do here. Might be worth taking a look and hiving off your lens over the pond.

Wow! $4k+, what a steal! Was it in good condition?

hi terrence.
was wondering how the internal lens elements were scratched...(as oppose to the front and rear glass where they would have 1 side exposed)

Just saw that sale. Big difference in price I might add.

I have no idea, I never did buy that lens. You'll never know the full history behind used equipemtn, especially if they've seen several different owners.
