Are Food prices going up?

Lets be clear here. We are not lusting over some exorbitant, extravagant, over-the-top lifestyle. We are talking about middle or low income guys adjusting existing living standards downwards.

Do you know why you have to 'reduce or eat more simple?' Either to enable some rich guy somewhere to (directly or indirectly) enjoy a big buffet at your expense, or because someone screwed the system and you are now paying for it :bsmilie:

Hi... incase you misunderstood... base on my pay... I should be less than middle income (one wife and baby + wife family back home depending on my blue collared pay) and in no way having much of any lifestyle.

What I'm writing here is to inform everyone REALISTICLY... if your pay is NOT matching up to your current lifestyle... we have no choice but to reduce and live differently than what we wish/hope for... sure, someone could be 'screwing' us... and we are unhappy... but insisting to maintain a lifestyle one could no longer afford.... ??

If can... that would be easy. But more possible to reduce or eat more simple...

No.... then you'll just have to learn, like the rest of us, to only spend on really necessary items...
don't need to go to the extend of eat instant noodles or breads.

just cook more for dinner and pack some for lunch tomorrow, sure can save lot of cost

Me... just eat simple (during work) and stop buying things that I want... but don't really need. For my family... just dinner at restaurant once a month and simple homecooked food most days. Best way to 'Screw' those trying to screw us by NOT letting them profit from me... :bsmilie:

You mean just cook more rice?

Like that we have to eat a big plate of rice with little pieces of meat and few strings of vege and pack more of the same for tomorrow lunch? :)

I can't believe what I read.

Singapore enjoys one of the highest living standard in Asia.

Yet there are people complaining about high food prices and advocating eating less.

海鲜龙肉美酒 should be the standard daily fare served on every Singaporean's dinner table befitting our first world status. :)

Or... lower grade and cuts of meat/fish/vegs instead of those more $$$ version. I buy less tasty 'frozen' meat and chicken instead of freshly killed stuff... more common farmed fishes instead wild caught ones... AA grade rice instead of branded AAA thai rice...

Photography is a passion for many whether it gets super cheap or free.:)

I have instant noodles for lunch for the past 20 years.

I always carry a pack of it with a hot water bottle in my bag if I'm out on a job. :)

since they are so passionate, should ask them to open cook food stalls, offering cheap or free food, that should help general public lower their daily expenses.

and they can shoot their own foot, opps, I mean food, during their free time, can also offer TFCD to pretty aunties if they happen to patron their food stalls.

Foot/Food to lure aunties?

That's an exciting proposition. :)

Notice you will get excited whenever we mention about aunties...... ;)

You're wrong.

We need their maturity, experience and firm hands to guide us in the difficult journey of gowing up. :bsmilie:

While we talk about rising food prices here, there is another thread in KPT talking about Panerai watches.

Are the rich Singaporeans crying poor or what? :bsmilie:

For those who say we complain too much....

So full-time photographers who depend on photography for their livelihood should not complain also when freelancers and students charge cheap for their services! In fact, I encourage my young colleagues into photography to charge weddings cheap as they have been doing for some time. Since everyone needs to survive, don't complain hor, full-time photographers! Couples out there also deserve good photos at affordable prices. :bsmilie:

I'm actually amazed that many freelancers out there can take decent photographs and their charges are sometimes less than half that of the full-timers.

Everybody watch out!
Someone with an army of oompa loompas is trying to price you out of your market!

You expect a pay rise.... they expect a pay rise.... everyone EXPECT a pay rise....

I like this. Pay chasing after inflation.
Welcome to the wage-price spiral, one of the things economists are most afraid of. :bsmilie:
