are external flash important?

I was there waiting for the shuttle bus from 6:30 to 7:30 (damn slow bus), dunno if anyone spotted me :sweat:

The event was challenging, mostly because of the crowd i think. So damn hard to take photo with lots of people in front of you block your lens and flash. For once I wish i'd had an A300 to shoot with liveview above eye level :sweat:

Taken with an A200, big beercan 75-300, 3600 hsd flash, ISO3200. The lady host was definitely easier to take than the flying daredevils.

i got a sony 58 flash.. but dunno how to use.. might thinking to take up some courses.. u guys think is needed ?

so far no course attended yet... so far read the manual and have lots of trial and error... =P
though most of my shots are TTL mode... have not gone anything further to manual yet.. ^_^

but i see that the 1st hand price is 699. =( its damn expensive...

Do a search around, im quite sure that the 58 can do more things than just being more powerful than the 42. Since i dont own either 42 or 58, i don't really know much about the new sony wireless protocol. I think as of now, only the 58 can act as controller if you want wireless ratio. Correct me if i'm wrong.

$699 is SRP, surely you can get it for cheaper than that from shops.

hi brothers,The F58 got a range of 18metres and can be adjusted to the angle u desire. To activate it first have to synchronize with the cam body, take it out and push up the built in flash in r cam, make sure it is set to 2 flash and WL activated.Good luck:bsmilie:
