back to paris,
i'm still really impressed of the typical paris building. 5-6 storey, commercial space below, office/home upstairs.. seems like the whole city is consisted of this building typology, imagine like the whole singapore filled by shophouses... :)
this one taken near the Paris Opera Building ( it's at the end of the road )

other place in france that i visited beside paris is Chamonix.
It's a small city that's famous as the gateway to french alps, you just need to take the cable car ( was the highest in the world ) then you reach aiguille du midi at 3,842 m. Then from there you can see Mont Blanc ( the highest peak on europe ) it's still autumn but it's freezing there :|
i can't imagine how if i need to climb the mountain like those 2 guys :|

3 photos for today :)

France ( only Paris and Chamonix )

My favourite city on my trip is Paris. Now i understand why people really loves Paris.
The outdoor cafe at the pedestrian.. hundreds museums to visit.. great city to go walk around or just lazing at the gardens.
The night life, the food, everything... except the fact that it's quite expensive to live..
Night shot on an intersection beside Jardin des Tuileries...
sIMG_6374.jpg

Amazing photos.

My favourite is #1, the colours and the composition is just.. perfect.

Anyway i got a humble opinion on this #5. Notice the building is slightly distorted. If you look carefully at the edge, it moves up and slants. Probably due to lens distortion. Maybe can do abit of pp to this.

The 1st shot are truely awesome.

I really like #6

Gaudi is really a genius beyond his time.. i think you have to visit sagrada familia to truly appreciate his genius. :P

I love the 1st 2 shots.. it really reminds me of the good old days when you see the shots using slide.. may i ask what's your gear for the 2 shots?

@theshooter
yeah you're right... still sengek a bit ah... hehe...

@nemesis32
first 2 shot using sigma 12-24 on 5dmk2...
actually i spend the most time in barcelona at sagrada familia... stay there for more than half a day... ( because queueing the lift to go up also lah :| )
i see the exhibition about all the concept of the structural design that made the form as well... but still.. i just think that he's a bit.. uhmm overkill >_< ( yeah maybe that's the right word.. haha )

anyway, since you mention about sagrada familia...
below is the photos of it...

#12
The Sagrada Familia, design by Antoni Gaudi.. was considered his magnum opus, dedicated 15 last years of his life designing this building.
The construction started at 1882, still going on until now... targeted to be finished at 2026... ( omg! )
Funded 100% by donation and ticket admission... that's why the guy at the hostel tell me to support and buy ticket, if not it won't be finish forever >_<
It has 3 main facade with their own story...
This view is the passion facade... which is the entrance for the tourists...

#13
Is another view of the Passion Facade, a lot of Gaudi's structure / architectural design concept / form is taken from the nature...

back to paris again :)
Tour Montparnasse is the 2nd highest building in Paris (after eiffel tower)
was the first and the only highrise building in old city area.. ( the people hate because it's so contrast with paris, that's why the paris' URA decide to ban all highrise building in old city area )
but from the top of Tour Montparnasse, you can see the view of whole Paris... and they said it's the most beautiful view of Paris.. ( because from there you can't see the building itself... )
This one is Paris on sunset, taken from the observation deck of Tour Montparnasse... ( image size didn't serve the justice of this view :| )

And from the Tour Montparnasse you can see the Eiffel Tower ( the so called icon of Paris )
was built for the entrance of 1889 World's fair.. was planned for temporary structure, but they really like it until they decide not to demolish it.
At night time it will have some special lighting display, that's copyrighted. so we can't use the lighting display of eiffel tower at night for commercial use without asking permission from France government.. ( aiyo.. )
When i was there.. the lighting display is... WHITE AND RED.. wahlao... just give me the normal yellowish light can? :|
The view of Eiffel tower from the Trocadero...
