Folks, I would really love to increase the size of the group further but from experience, 20 is almost as many as it can get. Those who have been to previous sessions would realise that I do like to talk to each and everyone, be it in the midst of the session or during meal times. If you can't make it this time round, don't worry. I'll be doing similar sessions at the various locations we've been to so far later on. Thanks!

wildcat! Got a task for you this time. You'll be in charge of spreading the benefits of having a bubble leveller(assuming yours is not dried out by then) :bsmilie:

coolthought! You have a bigger task. You can start selling the virtues of a gear head to the group!

Then the two of you can combine together and give a lecture on how to get your lines straight!! :bsmilie::devil:

Coolthought---kena poison 2 outing before then now spread poison.:D

Wildcat----if yours dried up can use kit's:bsmilie:

Is there still $10 budget left from previous outing for a new leveller?

Okay, I will bring my completely intact and still totally full leveller and borrow Kit's chipped leveller. I might or might not bring laptop with PTLens to demo software levelling and hopefully you don't ever have to (coz it's really painful).

Yay... I got something to do already :vhappy:

I know chances are slim to be 'upgraded' to the attendees list, but who knows out of sudden 7 people could not make it the last minute..which is nearly impossible hehe

r00ki3, let me grant you 1/7th of your wish. I can't make it. Have withdrawn myself from Reserves slot #2. Wishing everyone a rewarding and enjoyable outing. Cheers.

:sweat::sweat:

This is basically what I just recently got after getting "poisoned".:sweatsm:
manfrotto 410 junior gear head
manfrotto 410 junior gear head

Most common tripod heads are the ballhead and the 2 or 3 way head.
A easy way to look at what a gear head is.... is basically a 3-way head with gears added for precise movement in the 3 axes. Roll, pitch and yaw.....basically this made getting the camera to level really easy.

For the Multiflex gearhead.... I will leave it to Kit to explain....:sweatsm:
Photoclam Multiflex Gearhead review by Kit
Photoclam Multiflex Gearhead
Arca Swiss Cube Gearhead

PS. Initially I was looking for a new tripod after I found my long zoom and or long exposure photo sometimes are somewhat soft even with using a tripod when view on the computer screen close up... however, ended up getting a gear head in the process also....

I think I am good with the aluminium tripod. I was carrying it and walking almost the whole day and still feel reasonably good....antidote....

I would do the 2 way head demo (i.e. how to panorama without a 3 way head) except the legs of my tripod a bit kooky after I stuck them in sand last week  think oilspill + sand at East Coast <> good idea.

Luckily u mentiond abt e 410 coming at a good price for a pwp item.
i went to source for someone willing to take the 055xpro n got e 410 rather cheap than if i got it alone :)

great! Now we can have a second look or user opinion at the gear during demo.

As long as the whole thing is still stable, shouldn't be a problem.

I am more concern about the stability of the tripod as a whole rather than the head. The precise movement of the gearhead is a greatly welcome bonus.

Thanks. You can check out the price under Cathay Photo's special offers>manfrotto 055XPROB tripod.

Kool, seems like a great buy, quite value for money under $400, look forward to ur new setup at this coming outing :)
