Hi all mac users,

currently CP has a promo on getting the MBP with spyder express as a freebie thrown in.

is the offered MBP the newest specs on the market? as in, i understand the cpu chipset core is changed, even the mainboard too is able to load more rams than previous versions. so is the one offered by CP the newest ones versions on the market?

i think Core Duo 2 is the latest model, rite?

i'm more concern if their pricing is as good as EpiCentre over at wheelock, spyder or no spyder. ;p

Yup, the listed ones are the current model with multi-touch trackpad.

Prices are standard at ALL shops so the Sypder they throw in is really a free goodie.

Frankly speaking you're only paying for the brand and OS. Also, its not so much of a difference between windows and mac.

It all depends on whether you want to fork out the money to buy a mac just because it is a mac.

Long time no see - how are you doing these days?

Must come out for kopi soon and tell me more about your trip to Japan (was it last year)?

Anyway just to let you know, if you find the price for the MBP at EpicCentre cheaper compared to the one Cathay is offering - let me know. I still have my student card (graduating this coming May/June) so EpicCentre will charge cheaper for student rates. Thing is, student rates aren't entitled to any on-going promos or upgrades, and the purchase must be made using cash or NETS. Well, at least that was what they told me back in November 2006 when I bought my MB so you can check with them again. I can lend you my student card if you want.

For the tech specs, hehehe, sorry can't help you that much. I'm quite a computer idiot when it comes to such stuff.

Anyway, lemme know - but SOON!

check out the specs online. The CP promo nothing much, prob can get better deals elsewhere where they throw in extra ram.

The free ram upgrade, if there is, which is most definitely additional 2gb is going to cost like $60++.

I just came back from the Authorised seller in vivo, they are selling the Macbook pro with a free RAM upgrade to 4GB worth $800 ish, Well worth it IMO, just thought Id let you guys know!

And you can get 4gb of RAM from SLS for like $130.

So, its still thrown in for free, and from apple, id rather have that then go pay for it at SLS!
