my previous school was near their camp and they are so fit..
always see them running.
And when they are on duty, they hardly move at all.
Very the 'Garang'

I LOVE their hat. When I was young, I wanted to be in that force. Then I realised it's not opened to singaporeans.

great pics taken by bro lifestyle1881...

Gurkhas! cool! they are damn cool with the uniform! nice coverage!

Ya lor,I last time also inspired.Thought they were the SEALS of singapore, then realise also not for singaporeans. They are from Nepal right?Or somewhere those area like laos and all that

Nice pics, thanks for sharing!

Security must be very tight, else more pics will be good;)

Yeah, Gurkhas' origin is Nepal. Typically, the can have a few generations in the family serving our garhment. You'll see them at heavier-guarded installations, like some official buildings, and ministers' residences.

after 9/11 they were everywhere, i use to chat with the ones guarding my school every now and then. they carry like these mega cool special nepalese curved blade knives.

The Gurkhas are such fine soldiers the Brits even employ them in their own army, and even built a monument for them in the UK.
And the curved knife is called a kukri, there are stories that once unsheathed it must taste blood so if a Gurkha unsheathe it but never use then he must cut himself.

Thanks guys. Here are more pics on great security  and ready for anything.

Hey tomorrow come Istana entrance lah. I will be there haha. :D

But you will need zooms thou, coz we are sealing off the pedestrian walkways on both sides of Orchard Road when the VVIPS come in, so you gotta shoot from Istana Park. There is a good chance to capture the convoys thou from the park or the roads around the park.
