Sigma 85 is no Contax N85. :) Anyway, I understand what you mean since you also have the ZE100.

Hi Everyone, i need some advice here. I am currently using a 5d3 and would like to purchase a zeiss 15mm 2.8 but not sure whether I should get the ZF.2 mount or the ZE mount. The ZF mount comes with an aperture ring on the lens which is great for video but not sure whether the there will be any IQ difference when mounted on a canon camera which suppose to use ZE mount, thank you.
 

Zeiss specifically designed the ZE version for Canon bodies. Get the ZE ones. :thumbsup:

[Edit] For video, you have to get the cine-mod ZF lens, where they de-click the aperture ring. This could be more expensive though. I believe the IQ will be similar being it is of the same element design.

for older legacy lenses, de clicking is as simple as removing the ball bearing on the aperture ring . not sure what the modern equivalent is.

a dumb qn because I don't do videos...No aperture ring cannot do videos or more difficult?
bcoz I know of many people who are using ze lens on their 5ds or 1dx for videos lei. so am wondering if they modified their lens or what??

Get the Nikon Mount . more versatile as can use on either Cameras with adapter.The Nikon ones always sells out at retailers.My 15 and 135 are Nikon Mts and 100 and 35f1.4 Canon.
