Anyone want to MO Whilbal?

PM reply you, sorry about that, I didn't want to turn it into an MO as I didn't want to violate forum rules. So what I did was to order on my own, not asking advance payment and distribute to friends who wants the same as I ordered.

Like me buying bulk but all risks on me and share shipping for all.

Ok, I've ordered it and waiting for vPOST to confirm to me the charges for shipping back to Singapore.

Here's what I've ordered, not including my own, I have ordered extra 3 New WhiBal G6 Pocket Kit. One for Ruff, One for Phat Phreak and one extra, possibly for Maxim (since you did not tell me the size you want). If you want you can take that if that is not the size you needed, it's ok, I'll keep it.

Didn't want to delay nor take too many orders since more means GST, why pay GST when we can avoid it by ordering less.

Good morning, Bro Azul.

Thanks Bro, for taking the initiative  . Maybe once we get the stuff, you can tutor us on how to use it, eh ;) ?

Azure, if maxim prefered the studio version, i would like to take the extra copy.:bsmilie:

Ok, you got the extra one. I will forward you what I sent the others. I believe you have seen thru the videos and understand how this is different from other grey card right?

ops! haha paisay~ Yea. Very good details in the video parts. ;)

I think i may need a reference card instead of the pocket sized. Michael Tape was indirectly saying Nikon system should need a reference instead, to correct WB and exposure. Is it necessary to purchase such a big card or the pocket will work fine with just an eye drop in PS.:dunno:

I think you need to view the video again, the grey card how traditionally it was used requires to cover the entire frame until your Nikon camera metering says 'Good'. For Whibal, it is not used as how you use grey cards.

I personally think the small card is enough, if too small, can always zoom in via PS and then choose a point with Eye Dropper tool, we are using digital camera aren't we?

Let me know if you wished to drop out, no obligation to take it if that is not the size you want.

if you work primarily in RAW, then the pocket size is exactly what you need
Its small and convenient, some even attach it to their camera :D

however if you are working Jpeg, then you should be using bigger one
like the studio etc

If you bring the small one too close, you block off some of the ambient
Also if you try to balance flash and ambient, the flash dont detect your
small card and over-expose it..........
That's what i understand...maybe someone using it already can
tell us a better way to balance flash and ambience

Ok, it arrived today and just a simple test on White Balance using flash, pardon the exposure. I tested first with Flash set to colour temperature 5600K and another Camera WB Flash (lightning symbol).
1) Set WB using Colour Temperature 5600K.

Whibal adjustments are on the right of picture. Eventhough the WB were set differently for the 2 images the after Whibal adjustment made the 2 images appear as though it was at same WB, which is what I wanted, now I can set batch WB if shooting in same lighting and not have to fiddle with PS.

FYI, the images were just cropped and Save As Web to reduce the size, no PS adjustments at all. No time to try outdoor.
