Just bring your charger along, it will be very useful. By my estimate, it can copy about 3gb worth with my magicstor 2.2gb (2 times, 1+ gb each time) before going flat. It now serves as my external portable storage.

Looks like I got a good deal also :P, just FYI I paid $335 for it + a samsung 40 gb.

Regards,
JK

Just need to confirm with other who uses the X-Drive Pro. According to the website, it states that you can copy file from HDD. Does it mean copying from HDD to PC or to another memory card? has anyone try to copy a file from X-Drive Pro to a memory card?

Cheers
John

Every time I need to travel, I hate to bring charger for every single electronic equipment. To name: handphone, iPaq, shaver, digital camera, x-drive pro. If the battery can last for 3 weeks (in off mode) and ready to be used when needed, then I won't need to bring the charger.

Simple, bring a AC-USB adaptor, and bring USB chargers for most of your equipment.

Cellphones and PDA usually have USB charging cables. Use them with the AC-USB adaptor.

Shaver : use battery operated type, or use a Gillette shaver. No batteries, no adaptor, and lighter than a AA battery.

Camera : no choice. Have to bring the charger.

XDrive Pro requires a 12V adaptor, so you cannot use the AC-USB adaptor, which is just 5V. But other storage solutions, like the Noontech EXO or the QCool OTG, uses a 5V adaptor. You could probably power such devices from the AC-USB adaptor.

I strongly recommend bringing the charger for your XDrive. What's the worst that can happen ? You have a 100gram charger that you dun need. If you dun bring it, you could end up with a XDrive that you cannot use. Which do you prefer ?

Saw the X-Drive Pro at South Asia Computer in SLS (3rd floor) selling -- IIRC -- for $189. Cheapest 40GB HDD in SLS is $139 (Seagate, 5400rpm, 8MB).. so if you are to sum it up, you can grab the combo for $328.
