I use Bessa R2 myself. Tough little camera, a little bit loud though but very reliable and the CV lenses take good photos http://www.pbase.com/kepha/nurses_of_singapore
If you want to buy, I recommend Dr. Joseph Yao from Hong Kong. He deals with grey market CV products and I got all my CV stuff from him. He could be contacted at joseph@yao.com He has an impeccable reputation and a gentleman to deal with. Hope this is helpful.

I believe that Mr Wong in Lucky Chinatown also stock alot on Voigtlander product. :)

I second this recommendation of Joseph Yao!

Frankly speaking, I would rather spend money on a used M6 or a M4/M4-2/M4-P rather than get the Bessa bodies. Although any body that can mount M/LTM-adaptor lenses would work.

When i said prefering the used Leicas, I was comparing the R2/3A prices of (USD599 + shipping = ~SGD1,100) compared to possibly SGD1,500 (if you look hard) for a nice used M4-2/M4-P. Looking at the features and specs of the R2/3A, it reminds me of the Nikon FM3A (about the same or slightly lower price and similar features). So if Cosina could sell it for lower than SDG600-700, I guess it would be attractive enough to get one for use, considering that it has AE and a 1:1 viewfinder. In saying that I would get one for use only because I have M glass.

Just my $0.02. :)

I bought a M4-P for $1k! I used it with a 35/2 ASPH and a 50/2. It took great pictures, but my Nikkor 50/1.8 + F80 was not so far away and was almost 2k cheaper.

Despite what other posters have said, I would seriously consider the Bessa's. The R2A and R3A are improved versions of the R2. The AE feature and 1:1 finder on the R3A are especially useful. However, you would have to bear in mind that Bessa's lack the 'luxuriousness' of well-made Leicas and have poorer resale value.

If I had lots of $, I would get a M7, but in the real world, the R3A would be my choice.
