Hi looking for some feedback on the varizoom stealthy. Anyone tried it with a DSLR? Like 5D mark 2 or D800 etc? Does it work as advertised or is it more useful for lighter DSLRs?

Interested to know the stabiliser ease of use compared to dedicated stablizer like my black bird.

I am also kinda interested in the Stealthy. But I guess, there have yet any reviews since it is a new product. If I am not wrong, sgcamerastore will be bringing them in. Not sure if they have one in stock.

Hi guys yes - it already in stock in our outlets

No experience with this, but they do state this on the official product page:

Handles cameras as is up to 3 lbs., for cameras 3 - 5 lbs. order additional optional weight kit, the STEALTHY-WT5

Given that the D800 is approx 1000g with battery, depending on the lens (any additional accessories), you'll most likely need the weight kit, which is advertised to support up to 2.26kg (5lbs)...

Just bought the Varizoom stealthy! Will try it out and post some feedback soon!

post some sample videos please!

Ok i try and do some shots and post them tonight =)

Sorry didn't have time to post any videos last night, spent more time configuring the stealthy instead. Inital impressions

-its really compact, i can fit it in my thinktank retrospective bag
-Not light, especially once i mounted on my D800
-For heavier cameras its a bit more difficult to calibrate but still easier compared to merlin steadicam (Which i used to have)
-For calibration you just need to adjust the length of the pod at the bottom and 2 levers on the camera platform. Easy!
-When adjusting the levers to slide in the camera plate don't loosen it too much, i did yesterday and the whole moving piece came out but its quite easy to put it back, just don't lose the springs
-Switiching of modes is as advertised, fast and easy to change from mode to mode.

Ok i shall really try to post some videos tonight haha

Sorry guys, i know its been quite long since an update but here is it. Wedding shot fully with the Varizoom Stealthy. My brother used it though, i was the photographer haha
