Hi,

Thanks for the pic... it's beautiful  .

Was it taken handheld? Is it possible for you to post a crop of the center deer's face... not nessary 100% crop... I'm only looking at prints up to S8R.... think that's about 50% to 60% crop.
Yup...

Its a handheld shot......

I actually saw these group of deers while driving and only could park the car about 100m away.....so excited...i just walked over with the camera and lens with the TC in my jacket....its freezing......so realised that the range was too far and had to use the TC.... switching in the cold weather wasn't that easy.....

I handheld the cam for the shot...initially wanted to use the road side reflector post but its far off my target....just knelt down....stop my breathing for a moment and poof it went....

Thanks... dunnoe if it's possible to use your car as a hide to get closer to those deers.. mabbe u can get a super close up of them ;p

HIee....

How i wished......

You know in the US.....some road side cliffs are just not "car stopping" friendly......

If i were to use the car as a hide.....the car would have rolled down the cliff where the dears were......Ouch!!!

Hahaha... well, you might not know, they might become your passangers ;p

Well... it seems like not much ppl are using D7D for birding... :(
Mabbe it's the population size... :dunno:

Hi,

As above, anyone here tried the D7D on long lens for birding? Birds in flight actually... Is it sensitive enough to compansate for such long lens movement?

Thinking if it is possible to save on the IS/VR lens by using AS?

Also, what's the "settling" time for the AS to stabilised?

Pls share your pics or links.

thanks

Hi CYRN,

Attached are 2 pics of birds in flight taken by Dynax 7D with Tokina 400mm f5.6, handheld.

AS is ON and i think there's no settling time. Regards.
