Anyone owned this before?

Thought it looks like a pretty good compromise.
I am looking for a tripod replacement, so monopods with feet will be good. I also do the occasional tracking shot, so the ability to glide/fly will be useful.

look goods - saw this at sgcamerastore once - not sure they have it still

Something same but different.
FEISOL

Now this looks really interesting!
Do you know where I can check this out locally? Thanks!

That girl in the pictures must be really strong!

It's better than the Glidecam isn't it, given that it can be extended. I was thinking of getting a glidecam, but after looking at this, this seems more affordable with the things it can do.

Does anyone own it yet?

The steaddiepod and the glidecam are 2 different products. The glidecam is a portable handheld version of the original steadicam. The steaddiepod is just 90% do it all tripod and 10% steadicam. With no counterweights or a gimbal mechanism. If you have different rigs, the weight will be different and you would have a hard time adjusting for comfort. If you look at both demos (glidecam and steaddiepod), you would notice the steaddiepod handheld function is totally useless compared to the glidecam.

It does sound very tempting that it has so many functions but it does comes with disabilities as well. The functions are not 100% useful if you think of it.

Also the picture below is high not reccommended for guys :bsmilie:

Ahh, I see what you mean in the handheld mode. Its not as smooth compared to the glidecam.

What other alternatives should I look at?

You can look at Flycam, very similar to glidecam. Or just DIY, which is the cheapest alternative. The manfrotto fig rig is worth the look as well.
