Anyone still buys from camera shops?

Online shopping is for some little accessories....

Me.. sometimes from ebay you may end up with a lemon! Having to go via PayPal etc to get the money back is not always worth the hassle..!!

With online shops and ebay anyone still buys from camera shops?

In Sydney CBD we once had something like 11 shops with two having enormous floor space. I think we now have only three left.

I buy most from ebay. With cheap made-in-China accessories I usually buy more to keep for spare.

I must say camera shops are a good place to physically handle and check up a camera or lens you want to buy online. However they have to pay for the rent and wages too.

these days, I only buy camera from shop. Got to molest the cam first and feel it first before dishing out my credit card or nets card.

I almost aways buy lens used. and just cannot remember when was the last time I bought any other accessories.

Small cities like spore makes physical shopping very easy, unlike bigger countries.

Online shipping will not make it big in spore, except for hard-to-find products and rare items.

Personally I won't pay thousands of dollars for online shopping. The risk is too great. Cheap stuff, yes. I will pay up to maybe $100 to buy online. Anything greater than this amount, I rather go down to a shop.

Personal experience, I have been buying stuff from Qmarket, price ranging from $10 to $60. So far have good experience.

Expensive gears better get from shop!!! Have bad experience getting online

bad experiences are because of the bad retailers not online itself. If you are worried, you can buy from big retailers like Amazon and so on which i never have any issues with. However, i sometimes try new online retailers (never buy anything from them before) as their prices are much cheaper than big retailers and of course local shops. Depends on you value more about Saving Money or Warranty or other things.
