Like i said if you can handle it, and you're looking for one editing software that has the most transitions and effects, according to what az-pro wants, just get after effects. The render times are affected by what you're doing, so if no motion blur, no 3D layers, no frame blending, or you use networked computers, it's actually not that long. Plus, before there was lightroom and picasa, you could just import in a picture and use non destructive effects on it, i.e. sharpening, colour correction etc. so that's one less program you have to buy.
The main difference between ae and something like premiere is obviously complexity, and the timeline interface, plus some other annoyances such as no obvious crossfading between clips. Other than that, i don't see why anyone needs to be limited by what they read on the product description.
