I recently read in other forums that a vivitar 13mm f2.8 lens is pretty good and cheap.

the optical design is same as samyang 14mm, AFAIK

hmm but i also read that the samyang is a different lens. Is vivitar available anywhere in singapore?

Only in USA. Here there is a distributor for Samyang, as they manufacture the lenses and have different names for the lenses, like Bower, Rokinon, SAmyang, Vivitar, Falcon, etc . . .

Like to share a shot taken with the Vivitar F3.8 19mm wide angle CY mount lens. Bought an adaptor for my 5D too.

Vivitar has a tradition of getting OEM lens maker to make for them.

OEM included Kiron, Cosina, and now Samyang.

The same lens discussed here have the badges of Rokinon, Bower, etc as mentioned by Felix.
