im very interested in the process, but am currently studying overseas; if its cool with everyone i'd like to 'sit in'. if there's no legislation against bringing chemicals in perhaps i could source from over here the next time i head home.
hey guys sorry for MIA-ing for a quite some time...
Check this out:
Bostick-Sullivan :: Wet Plate Collodion :: Pre-Mixed Wet Plate Collodion Kits :: Complete Wet Plate Collodion Set For 4x5"
they sell the whole kit... 275USD for a whole kit, plus shipping (which im not sure yet, and if it requires some permit from SG)
We also need to get a necessary holder for the plate, which they sell too. For 199usd (4x5 size), anyone has any alternative ideas to that? seems abit pricey i think.
I have a friend who went HK to learn from a Wet-plate specialist and is keen in starting something here in SG as well..
anyone keen to share the chemicals?
hey,
I'm still keen to share. Are you doing 45 or 810 plates?
Chamonix has the 4x5 plate holder for 110 usd and the 8x10 plate holder at 240 usd, thoughI was planning to convert one of my leaking 8x10 holders into a plate holder too.

I am interested in ordering the chemicals too. Hope to save some shipping cost as I think it is high as stated in the website that there is dangerous goods shipping charge.
Thanks,
Sean

Maybe we can email them the order qty and enquire about the shipping cost first before we commit

Here is a list of chemicals she bought : List of Chemicals Needed « Photography Contrastique – Alternative Photographic Processes

I'm asking them to give me an estimated course fee, but I don't think will be very ex. Will be conducted in the mobile container darkroom they have now
