Adderall will keep you awake. And other kinds of recreational drugs.

is it same as those kinds supposedly used for soldiers who need to be awake for many days? :dunno:

Those who hang around "EXPOSE Yourself" threads too often will have such bad dream. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

I rarely drink coffee and the times I do, it has zero effect on me.

I usually don't participate in kopitiam, but this is about coffee, so I'll make an exception! :D I love coffee, though I've cut down quite a bit since last year. Record was 13cups for an overnite chalet thing; after the 13th cup, I concussed on the sofa...LOL!

I can drink giant mugs of it and it does not effect my sleep. Can't get to sleep that is. But give me a tea tarik from the coffee shop and I will have a night with eye wide open till morning. Funny thing.

Caffeine takes a little while to kick in the system...

On the other hand... when we drink hot drinks in the evening, it has a soothing effect and more often than not, we actually fall asleep pretty soon after that.

I've noticed that if i drink a hot cup of coffee in the evenings and go rest, i will sleep in about an hour at most 2.

If i drink then occupy myself with an activity for the next 2-3 hours, caffeine kicks in and i can't sleep for hours after that...

caffeine is useless... but the sugar in the coffee is the fuel that keeps me running... double espresso extra short... still can sleep

All of us seem to work on sugar rush instead... hahaha

i drink 3 cups of coffee a day, but its a diuretic.. makes you wanna go toilet...

Reminds me of this comic strip:

Don't know how to answer the poll. Lack of coffee definitely has an effect on me. Caffeinated is my normal state of being.
heh. nice comic

i'm just into my first cup of the day :)

3 table spoons of ground coffee filtered into 250ml, standard practice of 3 cubes of sugar, 1 spoon of creamer and 20ml milk

Getting too lazy to brew the cuppas these days...

back to instant coffee for me until I get back my mood...

I got the stove top-expresso pots, french press, etc.. getting lazy to use them... hahaha

i had a french press.. no idea where i threw the plunger away.. so now its functioning as a big mug

i'm probably gonna buy a beaker to use as a coffee mug soon :)

Main problem is the different grade of grind you have to do for the different brewing methods...

Coarse for the press
Medium for the drip machines
Fine for the expressos

Time to psych myself to get a home grinder machine.. love the one I saw at Starbucks.... small and cute...

*Gasp* You don't grind your beans? What, next thing you'll be telling me you don't grow, harvest and roast your own beans!

:bsmilie:

Actually I grind my own beans because I find it gives the coffee a much fresher taste. You'll need a burr grinder if you want to be able to vary the grind - the blade chopper kind is only good for a drip machine.
