Any potential to fly fish in Singapore? Thanks for sharing, in advance.
This be interesting to hear.
We dont have flowing rivers to catch trout or salmon and from what I understand the fishes here are bottom feeders.
Actually I passed by a shop near town that sells fly fishing equipment on Saturday. (Yes I was quite surprised.) The Shop sales person was very helpful and even demonstrated fly casting to me at an open field nearby. No kidding.
And he also said that fly fishing can be done at some reservoirs in Singapore where fishing is allowed. He also showed me pictures of some people catching rainbow trout in Singapore. So here I am checking if some Clubsnappers have done it.
Hi, There's a catch and release freshwater paypond located at
70, Pasir Ris Farmway 3
Which allows flyfishing.
$30 for 12 hours of fun.
Very decent catches too.
Depending on luck and flies used,
Anything from 200g to 30+kg
Fishes of various species to be targeted. Not kidding.
Water's murky so forget about sight casting yah.
It's basically booting your line out and see what happens.
I use 3wt. My friend's crazier so he's on a 0wt.
I think the fellow you met at Beach Road'll probably be Henry Or Melvin.
And also, yup yup,
Fishing Kaki website has people who're into fly fishing here too.
Good luck.

Hi, thanks for sharing, I erroneously said "rainbow trout" in my earlier post, should be "peacock bass". Yes I know they are very different.my bad....haha
