Y do you need a crane for? well we have magum crane and jimmy jib in singapore which will can do wat this kessler crane can do. if you need it to move just put in on a dolly.

thanks i got the crane already

I got the Kessler one. Imported from US. Pretty exp for the shipping but it is better than the glidecam one I saw. The footage of my very first TEST video can be seen below. That was done without any practise at all. A bit of shaking but I am very satisfied with it. My cameraman pal from TCS said it is pretty good after he tried it.

Hi engr. The crane shots are very nice man! The car looks a bit funny though, but I suppose can't blame you for that!:thumbsup:

wah ha ha u mean the car looks like crab.. itz got the Love it or hate it looks. Obviously I fall into the former category.

Hmm I paid close to 2.8k in all including a Manfrotto pan head. I am using it with the vinten pro6 tripod n libec dolly to raise the height. Itz really cool and EASY to use. There is some flexing but itz very minimal due to the double arm. You can see from the video that from my very first operation (no pre rehearsal at all) that this jig is worth the $$. Can fit into the car in the video with the rear seat folded down.

Take note the 3k excludes the weights and external LCD monitor.

good buy. where did you order it from . have you seem the portal jib ? Thanks for sharing

Hi engr. Interesting pics, thanks for posting them. Is the Libec dolly suitable for general dolly shots with a normal tripod, i.e. without the crane fitted? Usually dolly comes with rails so I was wondering if this one could be a good solution? Looks like maybe can work as long as the ground is not too bumpy, maybe indoors on smooth floor is OK, or outdoors on the pavement? BTW, how much is the dolly alone?

Jib was ordered directly from Kessler. However the chap there is no a good speaker.. quiet type I would say. I evaluated the portajib. In fact I messed ard with a Chinese copy in Beijing and didnt like the design.

Reason is it is less flexible because you cannot tilt the cam while ascending or descending. Another thing is one arm has more flexing than two. For those who never operated a jib b4, just imagine u carry a weight at the end of a bamboo and trying to lift it from the other end. You will experience flexing/bending of the bamboo. This is esp evident if your jib is more than 8Ft.

I am not sure if the Portajib can fix the cam angle. The chinese copy is fixed at level but the price is like SGD650 only! Certainly looks pretty heavy and solid but it looks like the tripod must be bought too. Kessler is a better buy for me due to pricing and I can use my vinten pro spreaders.

My fav would be Advanta Jib. This one comes with hydraulic pan head. Meaning u can pan and tilt the cam while ascending or descending.. COOL!! However the price is double of the kessler so..looks really smooth from the demos.

As for the libec dolly, its very solid. Price is about $260 I think.. pretty smooth but definately not good for long rolling shots even if the ground is smooth. It is very difficult to keep it in a straight line when moving as all 3wheels are multi-axis. I would recommend the Axis dolly for that application. It has the ability to lock a particular wheel direction.Works well on smooth flooring but the price is $^@&%&

A cheap solution is to DIY the rails+dolly. Its pretty cheap actually.. need some angle bars+old roller blades wheels and a wooden plank. The rails can be 2" alum hollow rods from Sungei Road. Haven got the time to work on it yet thou! Anyone here has a nice dolly on rails?

possible to share the price range in SGD..since you just check them out recently

Hi engr. Thanks for the info about the dolly.

Er paisei, I cant remb liao.. I got the crane 4mths ago. I think the Advante jib is like 6k without shipping, double of the kessler for similar length. However if taken in consideration of the pan/tilt head,it is worth it if u have the budget. I guess it will prob cost 7k with shipping ba.. cuz u need the special tripod for the advante jib. If u wanna cut cost u can get the chinese ver which has a level one.

You can check out this one too. USD1199 w/o shipping.
