The 16mm pancake is not as bad as many has claimed to be. Of course some people are comparing them with lenses 2-3times more expensive.

This lens when paired with small nex body, instantly makes it as small as a pns camera.

While i would not use it for landscape or architectural photos as its corner sharpness is not that good, but as a low light indoor lens, with aperture of f2.8, corner sharpness is no longer issue since it will be out of focus anyway.

Nex5n has auto lens ca, distortion and vignetting correction which i think will produce better results with these 2 lenses.

For a mere $100, i will certainly get it, its the cheapest pancake lens available. Furthermore, the centre sharpness wide opened is already very good.

Also, I believe Sony has tried to optimize the microlens array to help reduce the distortion caused by the short flange distance on the 5N. I will compare 2 shots, 1 with the 5 and another with the 5N later on.

I've read somewhere that the 18-55mm kit lens from the nex-5 is not as sharp as the 18-55mm lens from the 5n after doing test on both lenses on 5 and 5n.. Not sure if it is a bad batch issue or they revised the new kit lens.

i think you misunderstood, they tested both kit lens (from 5 and 5n) by swapping the lenses to different bodies and the old kit lens is not as sharp..

i think you can buy 5n with 16mm lens set.. at least hk set allows that.. not sure about singapore set

im not sure abt just the 16mm but i think ms colour should be quite flexible.
