Anyone got their hands on the 16-35 f4 yet? (nt)

Individual copies vary. And I disagree with Mr Ken this time.
The 14-24 is still sharper.

Ken is good for fun reading. As for anything else, I'd read more than his site.

i think when Mr Ken use the 14-24,maybe his speed too slow & his pict is not that sharp, when the new 16-35 with VR II kick in, his pict much sharper in slow speed now. :bsmilie: Just a joke.;p

In fact, i dont think the good old 17-35 F2.8 sharpness will loose out to the new 16-35 if shoot at F4.

Pro & con, whether a faster F stop more useful or a slower F stop with VR II more useful.

Any commend on that?

For me, F stop is more useful.
Because the bigger the aperture, the nicer the bokeh

And do u really need that VR II in 16-35mm focal length ?

I m convinced, VR does come handy for UWA..

I brought ONLY this lens to HK throughout my 5 stay stay recently, i can manage a CLEAN shot with VR enabled at 1/5s at 16mm in low light condition, which i believe the end result will differ if VR's nt in place.. :)

Numnumball, I regularly do 1/8 shots at 17mm up to 20mm. I think with practice it won't be difficult for anyone to do it.

At the longer end though I agree VR will be useful (but I won't buy a UWA with VR just for that, I'd take the aperture)

Hi all, everytime I see this post title, I wonder.
Why would anyone want to get this new F4 lens? Wouldn't the 17-55 f/2.8 be better? :dunno:

Hello... 17-55 is a DX lens. 16-35 F4 VR is a FX lens. :bsmilie:

Agreed bro, for uwas, tt one stop of light still essential, prevailing over vr in ur line of work :)
