Anyone go HK for A77?

Yup, NEX and A33/55/77 are made there. They converted one of their LCD TV factories there, but the QA senior managers are all from Japan.

My E mount kit lenses are made in Thailand too.

Guess it has to do with de "culture" or reputation of certain countries. If one day Rolex is made in China/Thailand (or even Singapore for dat matter) instead of Switzerland, will it still carry de same value?

The market stock is low because there was a lot of built-up demand (remember, the 18-200 is the kit lens for the NEX videocameras too!), but the stocks are steady now.

For small nex cameras, this lens is certainly making them too overwhelmed, thats why its not so popular among nex users.
If i can carry that lens around, i think i will be better off with a A33/55 and sal18250.
I still remember awhile back in the 70-ties, people were saying made in Japan no good ! :bsmilie: ...and now they're saying made in Korea/China no good...
Its only matter of time China will be the factory of the world and that's will give people no choice but to accept its quality, whether bad or good.
Next time when India joins in the fun, then it's China's turn to be treated like Japan.

Production plant is going to less developed country or country when labor is cheaper to reduce production cost mah.
we can buy made in Japan de (if available) but need to pay a premium for it.
I always go Best Denki to lookout for Made in Jap product, especially, Panasonic, Hitachi and Sony but the price is always higher.
Any different? only my heart feels better....but so far, the product is serving me well.

The ISO issue is not a prob to me bcoz i seldom shot low light...

you buy made in japan Vaio Z or A900, sent in the SG Sony Care no longer MIJ already lol..
dun think we will see a new FF Alpha made in japan also ...
