Anyone getting the new DJI Phantom vision?

I actually avoided the vision version.... The video stabilisation not as effective as the Zenmuse, and will be silly to buy the vision and then remove the build in camera system. That was how I felt. And after upgrading the latest NAZA M V2 firmware on the Naza M (Version 1), you actually get the same flight performance. BTW, the range of the Vision FPV is not as far as those using the 5.8Ghz transmitter.

Agree, so it depends on where you want to go. I rather invest in something that has greater ROI potential.
yeah, the Phantom 2 vision is really neat. the long flight time is a super plus point. If you just want to try and see how things goes then it might be good for you. But I think this hobby is super addictive! (Be warned) hahahaha....
Phantom 2 vision cost about $1600 all in Version one cost $670 (Phantom) + $960 (Zenmuse + PMU) + $599 (GoPro Hero 3 black). Total investment for Phantom version one is about $2200. (Not including the Vision FPV system as there is limited range)

Pros: Video is very stable and good and highly customisable.
COns: Limited flight time and more expensive.
For me I prefer a better quality video, so I choose the version 1.

I also think quality video is more important but then why in Phantom 2 do they improve on the flying time at the expense of video quality ?

The original Phantom do not come with the build in camera. So it is not a sacrifice. In version one, how good you want the video quality to be is up to you to upgrade.
Building the copter is the fun in itself. For me going through the trouble to modify and add functions to the copter, doing endless research is very enjoyable. Seeing the product work at the end of the day is really fulfilling.
My next project will be to take out everything from the phantom transport it to another frame and have a Hexacopter. Naza M can support 6 rotors.... giving more lift and more stability.

If u guys want the flight time and all that from the vision, just wait for the release of phantom v2 in jan/feb.
Then get a zenmuse to attach. Longer flight time plus stable footage.
I was too adventurous at the start. Build a hexa for flying 5d3 with dji wookong. Spend a lot of money but Abandoned project half way cause I find my skills not good enough to build it and fly it safely in real world situations.
To go into diy, u have to spend more money on trying and testing. Until u are pro, THEN u can save money vs buying a full fletch system like those on the DJI s800 evo frame and A2 brain.

Couldn't agree with you more, so I have chosen to go with Phantom first. From there acquire the necessary flying and shooting techniques before venturing into the S800 Evo with the Z15 for 5D3.
XsenseX, what happen to your copter now?
Sold off part by part … Lol … I had everything .. Really heart pain. Wookong, futaba t8fg and even shipped in the famous avroto 2814 motors.
But I was not confident of my electrical and flying skills so i decided not to go ahead when 3/4 done. Simple things like soldering the ESC 'unconvincingly' can led to big lost and worst is injury to people, that's really not worth it.
Now just flying my small quad around until maybe DJI release the phantom v2 bundled with Zenmuse then see if i wana go back into it.

Its seems like its true, the new phantom v2 will have a much more complicated board and has the added plug & play functionalities to link to the Zenmuse & maybe miniOSD. No need to solder anymore stuff for Zenmuse. Its gona be completely plug and play with plugable FPV too.

Thats what we've been talking all along … This is going to be the Phantom V2 (above is like a sneak peak) … It will share the same setup as the Vision internally and externally (batt + props + Led Lights)
By the way, they just released the phantom v2 first video a few hours ago. It WILL definitely share the same platform as the vision.
