Anyone Encounter Your 7D Hang?

No hangs so far during all my shoots.

Never so far ... firmware latest, using only Canon batteries, and UDMA 60mb/s Sandisk Extreme cards.

All cams can hang. Not just 7d.

Strangely, it never happens to compact cams as far as i know.

Might not be the CF card. Cause I using sandisk iii & iv 16GB. Canon original batt. But lucky me is that Having 5dmkii for 1.5 years and I encounter only twice. The funny part of my camera hang is that tit will auto-focus & still able to hear the beep sound, but it just refuse to open the stutter and capture.

Yup. My fairly new 40D hang the first time I out on a new 430EX II flash. Scared the hell out of me. Have to take out the battery to "reboot" the camera. Coming to think of it though the Operatring System that Canon EOS cameras use is a version of DOS. And any OS can hang under some conditions.

Card: 8GB Lexar Professional UDMA 300X
Shutter cound: Approx 1.1k

i've just encountered this problem as well. for those who have suffered this as well, did you guys find a solution, or root cause of the problem? apart from changing minor equipment (things like CF card etc), it seems even firmware updates don't seem to solve the problem from what i've read on this thread?
