Anyone dealt with John 3:16?

Hi

just wanna know if anyone has any unpleasant experience with this retailer.

I called them at 11+ am intending to obtain a quote on Fuji F30. After a long wait, someone picked up my call but I was unprepared for some extremely poor customer service.

Someone had evidently picked up my call but place the handset on the table w/o even answering! I could hear someone explaining a digicam function (presumably to a customer).

I will understand if they are busy and shorthanded. Walk in customers deserve priority but at least have the courtesy to let me know. If they are not going to take calls, they shd hang the phone up.:angry:
 

maybe you called at the wrong hour...
 

well.. thats nothing new. They certainly do not have the best phone manners around. But they give pretty fine service when you are there personally.

been it, seen it, tried it.
 

Doubt they did that on purpose.. probably really busy and forgot your phonecall.. customers there are afterall supposed to be treated with more priority than over the phone..

Perhaps should pay them a visit and you will understand the situation.
 

they do give very good face to face customer service :thumbsup: , though their prices are not the most competitive.
 

thye are nice pple, they will give u full attention one...if u are there..give them a break, i think it is only a 2 or 3 man show...

also happened to me when i tried to call Max photo to ask bout a camera on display. :rolleyes:
 

Happens with just about every other dealer, don't you think? As for me, when I need to know something I SMS them, so I wouldn't know =)

Seriously though, their service is one of the best. Drop by, check out the situation at the store, take a look at how packed they are. There usually only 2 of them, 3 at most. I wouldn't buy my gear anywhere else because they're the only people who don't ignore me just cos I'm a girl.

I have called other shops before (MS, AP & CP) John 3:16, when they are busy, they will at least tell u to call back later.

But picking the phone up and then placing it on the table w/o even a "pls call back later"?.

FYI, I was calling from Vietnam, that is why I am so pissed, I was expecting someone to come to the line after a minute or so.

But so far, my experience with MS & CP (both Florences) are good. Straight quotes and polite as well, the same goes for AP but no names.

so don't call the next time, visit them when you are back in sg. :)

Empathize with u... Yeah, like others said, maybe they were busy.

Well, on a personal basis, I think they are pretty nice people to chat with. But my several experiences with them in the past made me not want to go back there anymore. No, nothing unpleasant but I don't feel they provide me with the best of my photographic needs.

Firstly, once I was talking to "Samuel" (?) and asked him for some help with my cam. HAlf-way thru, without telling me, he suddenly went away. I thot what happened. Then saw this angmoh lady.. Well u know, he started showing his best smile, the "friendly to angmoh" attitude and I was left there standing and waiting for more than 15 minutes and he never even told me he'd get back to me. Wel, u get the picture....

Then another time, same thing, I brought my friend to the shop to get a Canon SLR (film SLR back then!). He saw us, just nodded his head, didn't bother to ask what we wanted, and again we had to wait for almost 30 minutes. I said in-between I wanted to see a cam but no choice, got to wait.

Then yet another time, I wanted to buy the Canon 85mm f/1.8.. Yes everyone knows the strength of this lens. But Samuel and another person in his shop said something like they dunno why I want this lens, it's not as fantastic as was praised by others. Wow.. Cut long story short, I did more research, took the plunge to buy.. but of cos not from them.

And overall, I find the things they sell are more expensive than elsewhere.

Like I said no hard feelings, but I guess maybe they are just short-handed or they attend only to the regulars. Anyway, it's not my liking to go their shop. It's juz too bad if they can't cope while other shops can. Sometimes I feel even if u are busy, it won't take longer than 10 seconds to reassure customers pls come again or Sorry we are very busy now, isn't it?
 

BTW, John's service is one of the best around though the prices arent.

If you looking for best service and price, you could check out MS color (Florence). I guess shops operating at HDB area do have an advantage with pricing since their operating overheads are lower than those in town.

EAch shop has its own :thumbsup: and :thumbsd:.

just got to experience each of them and see which is right for you at that time. :)
