Viewfinder is a bit small & dark but it has the illuminated focus points & on-demand grid screen built-in which is cool. Focussing speed is fairly fast but not as fast as say F100's although it has the latter's selectable focus area control.
I used to have one as a backup camera to my F100. I would say it's a good camera to start with. Don't bother with the F55, 60, 65, etc.
