Anyone buying the 50D in IT Show?

Just checked the price at the shop at 1900hrs.

50D with Kit Lens 18 -55 IS is $1818

50D with Kit Lens 17 - 85 IS USM is $2150

Both are GST inclusive, one single original batt, bag, lens book, 8GB, Local Canon Warranty.

I think this is probably the cheapest thus far.

Another way is wait...wait...and wait....the price sure come down, is only a matter of when.:sweatsm:

Hey, the above is at Holland Village Parasilk, look for kelvin...i think he's the boss.

I didn't ask for kit 3, as i'm only thinking about the above 2 setup. Will likely get it today too.

Yesterday I visited the IT Show and went to Canon dSLR booth that was manned by CP. Talked to the CP sales and ask him why people are coming here to pay more to buy the same camera rather than going to CP shops in Peninsula or Marina Shopping Centre? He just laugh... Actually they also don't have a choice as the IT Show price is dictated by Canon Singapore so they are not allow to lower the price even if they want to...

Sometimes there is no fair comparison. I asked MS color (1850) and Parasilk (1726+GST) few days before the IT show, so when canon give 1899 at IT show with some freebies, it is not too bad. Of course, if one find out days later the shops are selling a lot below the quoted price, can't do much then, since Singapore has no return policy.

i think the IT Show prices are somewhat the same, if not slightly higher...plus the freebies are alot lesser than if one is to shop n buy from outside this show.

my 2 cents...anyway IT show ended liaoz!
