I handled the S9500, and it was really really nice to hold. The zoom ring, manual focusing ring made it feel like a real SLR. Good build, finish, and size. It would've been a must-buy for me, IF it was released 18 months ago.
Fujifilm has released this as an attractive alternative to DSLRs. I believe it's a very good prosumer camera, maybe even the best prosumer around. But no matter how good a prosumer camera is, it's just simply a different class to DSLRs. Inherent disadvantages (and advantages) will always remain.
But of course, there will always be fans of the all-in-one package. The one thing that kept me away from Fujifilm's prosumer cameras is that it doesn't have a particularly sophisticated external flash system. If the S9500 had that, AND image stabilisation, it would've been a killer camera.
