Like to know if anyone in SG has the Extreme? Doing some research on DOF adapters now. Thks!

considering...waiting for USD to drop further. ;p

PS-Technik too expensive
Redrock is a bit too bulky, need additional flip module.
Brevis need flip too, and review is a bit noisy on the rotating ground glass.

Only Letus Extreme looks pretty decent for it's price.
Am eyeing the bundle with rail support.

The Letus is also supposed to have less light loss compared with the others. I'm interested in getting the bundle with rails so I can add a matte box too.

in fact the competition is heating up. Currently Letus Extreme bundle with rails is the same price as Brevis MP with rails. Brevis MP is the new ver with micro controlled rotor speed. So looks like no one has one to test it out. I did hear of some complaints about LEX quality but the EX1 combo has been stunning so far. Brevis is noisy? I tried out one unit in SG.. was really sharp n good. Only thing is it is a little longer compared to the LEX

noisy as in the rotating 'ground glass' got physical mechanical noise. :D

Ha ha oic.. ok luckily it hasnt got into the mic so far :)

actually, the noise should not be much of an issue becoz if you're using that kinda rig, you'd be expected to be using a full audio crew with dedicated audio rig... and not from the cam mounted mic unless you are just using that as reference audio for MOS scenes, or intend to do ADRs.
:)

May I ask what kind of camera you are going to use and type of lenses to attach?

I have experience using the Letus and the PSTechnik adapters in our studio, both give very good results but has about 1 stop light loss or more. Both setups are quite heavy as well. Also, Letus (or similar Brevis) setup tends to "shake" when used while moving, so it takes practice (I stick to using the adapters on a tripod.)

I think the Letus is a bit better in terms of light loss.. maybe about 1/2 stop.. depending on the wide open apertures of the lenses you use. I find that the loss is definitely more pronounced on apertures smaller than f2.8. As for the 'shake', i think its the IS of the camera that shifts when you move the lens. I normally turn it off when its on the Letus setup and there is no 'shake' (except when my hands are tremoring from too much caffeine.) :bsmilie:

The shaking happens due to length of the setup, though rigid with its support system, it turns into a wobbly stick when in motion. IS does minimize but does not entirely eliminate the shakes. I prefer sticking it to a tripod instead.

You carry ur letus setup to shoot? Hheehe. I tried putting that thing on my shoulder once. That was it. Never again.

ha ha dun ever try it unless u have the zacuto thingy.. even that is a killer.
