Hi...
Just wanna check anyone here bought any camera from this shop by the name of compact electronic at sim lin level 2... the shop is just in front of the escalator... the shop is quite big and have a few big panasonic logo.. U will definately c the shop when u take escalator up from level one. the reason i ask this question is because when i check the panasonic FZ18 in this shop the price is very cheap i think cheaper by abt $100. i have double comfirm with the shop assistance and they said that the equipment not export set and it is warrenty by panasonic. The price they quote is also nett... i din not buy the set from the shop cos i afraid that i might be kanna cheat... so wanna check with CS forumer whether anyone here buy any equipment or camera from that shop before??do u recommand it??? thanks for your valuable feedback thank and cheer!!!:)

Is everything in the box included in the price they quote you?

If so then may be no problem.

But do take note of the accessories they offered to you. The usual style is cheap camera but expensive accessories.

However, I would get quote from the usual store which were being recommended by the people around here to peace of mind, since so many people got bad experience with the Sim Lim shops (include me) other than OP and AP.

Good luck on your purchase

weird

have you compared it to op, ap and cathay pricing or not

In my personal opinion; I NEVER regarded those electronic shops existed in Sim Lim Square...

.. best to get what you need from a dedicated camera shop...

in my mind, there is only one trustworthy shop - M S Color...

Sim Lim...??? HOHOHO.... pls don't put your head under their chopping board.

Other than Orient photo and (ahem) alan photo, I will NOT purchase any photographic equipment from any shops there. Quite a few bad experience... luckily no money parted.

One mantra i always keep to...

Good things no cheap, cheap things NO GOOD!

Usually some shops has a lower offer price to entice you go to check it out. But somethings usually happen. Either you end up spending much more (on unwanted accessories), they tell you no stock or blatantly lie throught their teeth saying "no such price" or "price quoted to you then is without gst..."

So take heed.

I seriously doubt that any CS member will recommend you to purchase from those shops. I believe the only stores at Sim Lim that CSers have purchased from are AP and OP. Personally I have purchased from AP and OP without incident but then whenever I buy from Sim Lim, I know what I am buying and I know the price.

i rather pay slightly more to buy from alan instead of the shop u mentioned:D i don wish to have sleepless nights upon buying knowing that i do not have earning power yet:D and got to depend on my parents

p.s i m 15 onli

yes alan quote 640 they quote 550....

$90.00 is a big difference. Usually most shops would quote lower by about $5 or $10.

Check out the list of resellers on Panasonic's site here

could be grey

and yes, there will be a warranty in the box, but panasonic will not accept it IF it is grey, usually.

to be honest, if something is too good to be true, it usually is.

perhaps they haven't tell you that there is "no stock" and trying to sell you another model/brand at "attractive" price? good luck

True...

Is the shop: S*** Brothers Marketing 1 Rochor Canal Road #01-59/62 Sim Lim Sq 63368522? :bsmilie::bsmilie:

They're listed in the Panasonic website.

beware... some shops have been known to remove supplied accessories like strap and battery and charge separately for those. so make sure you check against the list of supplied accessories before agreeing to buy.

Personally, by just look at the faces of their sales personnel at Song Bros., I know will NEVER walk into such a store...

They once opened a branch at Jurong Point at Basement 1... they lasted about a year plus & closed down... not surprised at all.. because their service attitude is deplorable; long sulky faces, you walk in they stare at you (no greeting if you are a local), if asked about price for a camera, they tell you "it's expensive lah.." & carry on with their idle chit chat with colleagues... everytime I pass by, I see them talking lock or playing card games or just idling...

They SUCK ROYAL!

Oh yar... i remembered Song brother's super short stint at jurong point. Its so quiet even on weekends and their prices and service is lousy compared to harvey norman or courts above.

You can choose to believe that he is selling u with full accessories and world wide warranty with exact local promo free gifts. But moral of the story....he will switch u to another model, by trying to brain wash you. Cos normally customer is locked into one particular model that u might be interested. If he intro u another one and stated it is better than the one u intend to buy. Then how are you able to know whether he is selling you the correct price. If you choose to believe his stories....then good luck to u. Or maybe u can try to buy just the standard set with freebies from him and dun buy any accessories he intro u....u see whether his face will change colour....:bsmilie:
