using 600d wif 50mm
its quite light so i tot of using the Hand Grip Wrist Strap rather than a sling

I use a 600d with 70-200 and I don't use any strap lol. Personal preference I guess. Can you handle the weight of the camera in one hand?

can cos i will be using 50mm lens only and will use 2 hand to balance when shooting.

Personal preference really. When I'm out for long hours with my camera out, I use my Blackrapid, when I just have the camera out for a few shots at a location, I don't even use a strap, haha. :)

i do, i actually like hand strap a bit more than neck strap. i find it more convenient. using nikon's own hand strap

I use the original Nikon Wrist Strap with my F90X+MB, with 24-85 lens and SB28, the main reason is the reduce the stress on my hands and it does help.

as for DSLR, since I don't need to keep holding the camera for long hours, so I don't use Wrist Strap nowadays.

aye, personal preference. I use a hand strap too. And my gear is considerably much heavier than a 600D with a 50mm f1.8 ;)

am poor la..
only can afford poor 600d wif cheap 1.8 + handstrap

If you're really poor you'll only be affording a compact from some random brand. Go with what you think is comfortable. Or the standard strap just wrap it around your hand

sorry to cut in since its regarding DSLR... but since it abt hand grip strap, wonder anyone using it for rangerfinder or compact cam. e.g fujifilm x10 etc?

The handstrap I recommended above is only S$20. Well worth it.

but not this type rite

I've once considered a hand strap for the convenience, but that would depend on gear too.

I can imagine a 5D Mark II with BG-E6 and a zoom lens set on my hand all the time.. my hand would break soon lol.

It's fine, but a neck strap is generally more versatile, because I don't use a light lens on the camera all the time.

yup, its a personal preference. personally, i love using a handstrap for most work. if i feel that i'd be carrying it for extended periods, i'd use my blackrapid sling strap. but for most uses, a handstrap is my fav. i personally cant stand neck straps. currently thinking of getting a canon E2 hand strap for my canon 500D, the 'matin' strap im using now (nikon copy, i think) covers the battery door with its base plate

I actually considered it - but I decided that it was clumsy.

Mine is a simple loop around the wrist. The link I previously posted has a picture.

@TS

I have one, same setup as well with additional battery grip attached. they're great for short-period of time. more than 30 minutes, it's hell. Therefore, always have your slingbag/backpack close to your body.

sometimes you just miss having the neck/sling strap because of some activities calling for both hand.

or try this, copy paste this on your youtube search bar : DSLR hand-strap! - HOW TO / DIY using a standard DSLR neck-strap!

I preferred not to use any strap, rather just hold firm to the camera & don't need it, just put in my shoulder bag.
