Any redundancy/overlap with these lenses?

What is your shooting habits? Do you shoot everything? You could really make your money work for you if you know what is your shooting habits because no need to get all those lens you selected first. Can just go with anything from 12 to 50 (sounds familiar... hmm... wait, its the OMD kit lens! haha). Then later slowly stress your wallet after you know your shooting habits.

Yeah I bought from Amazon at $199 and it arrived at my US office yesterday. A colleague will be bringing it over in May. Was just wondering about local price Esp. Brand new.

my guess is panny want to phase out/reduce inventory of this lens. there are already X 45-175mm and 100-300mm.
said that, for the price US199, it is a good buy for this lens. not stunning but quality is good enough for daily use.

being a noob of M4/3 cams, and upgrading from P&S cams, i would say my skills are seriously lacking... base on my current shoot style, most prob b will be shooting more of portraits shots for my frens and family. and also places of interest when i go overseas.

i'm not familiar with street shoot/macro/telephoto yet. so i might just get the 45/1.8 to start with.

you can cover all m4/3 FL with 7-14, 14-140 & 100-300.
and primes & macro to your shooting requirement.

If that's the case, I think kit lens plus 45mm should be enough. Some people might even consider skipping kit and go straight to 20/17 and 45. I know got 1 guy here use only prime :bsmilie::bsmilie: 12mm prime 20/17 prime 45 prime and I think he will get 75mm prime too but I think you should not follow him that fast because he seasoned user liao. You should explore and know your own habits first.

before you jump in on the 45/1.8 (a very good lens), you might want to
try out with a kit zoom, 14-42 or 14-45, to see which FL you like best
for a prime lens.

all rounder prime for me would be one of these; 14mm, 19mm or 25mm
(if your budget permits). 14mm is most versatile. you can do almost
every genre with it.
