How abt 20D? Heard mixed reviews....Heard its good but with some flaws..

Flaws, really ?? Care to share

1. The noise level when shutter is released..
2. Flushing of buffer without warning when CF card slot is opened(accident or otherwise)
3. Noise level in pictures is higher even at higher ISO

Well..I was told by ppl who has tried 20D....wonder how true?? So anyone care to share their views? any flaws that must not be overlooked...

For me...I would like to get something that is gonna last me for a long time..Lazy..haha...D70 was initially my choice till i realise the vert grip prob...

300D looks good cos its darn cheap now... $1500 for the kit...

1) Yeah, pretty loud. If a 300d is a M16 the 20D sounds like a AK-47. The birds will give you eye contact becoz of that and then fly away if you are too near. For events... not an issue.

2) Ur... that happens when you yank the door open when its trying to write to CF. Which I won't do if I were you.

3) Not true. Only the 1 series has better noise control.... here is a 100% crop of a iso 1600 shot I did last sunday - no sharpening, no levels, just crop and save...

The only flaw is that it will chew up your CF space. Just ask any 20D owner. ;p

So i guess all recommendations points more or less to 20D....

Interesting...reading thru so many reviews...in forums...anywhere...seems either D70 or 20D will do for me...Still...D70 lacking the batt grip is giving me headaches...

I shall make another round of decisions in mid december...when i am gonna buy the DSLR that i need/want/hanker/drool...haha..

I thought mine's noisy enuff. I set my 300D on full-auto and ppl will know that I took a couple of shots liao. Never knew the 20D's more noisy den mine.

Yeah, I thought the 300D was loud until I heard the 20D. Stand next to anyone shooting a 20D and you'll know what I mean. No mistaking the loud chattering sound of 5 frames per second.
