Any problem with NTSC cam in Singapore?

Can you shoot something under fluorescents at 1/60s and post a clip? Would be interesting to see your results.

I really can't imagine why DSLR would be different from video cam, except maybe that the 5D2 is 30fps and not the standard 29.97.

1/50 is the shutter speed you need to use, or multiples of it. Our electricity is at 50hz.

I agree about the 1/50s, but not so sure about the multiples of it. Longer periods such as 1/25, 1/12.5 etc would also be flicker-free, but are not very useful because of motion blur. Shorter periods like 1/100, 1/150 etc will still show flicker because these are only portions of the mains power cycle period, and the amount of light captured depends on where in the cycle the shutter is open. Since the frame rate and the power frequency and not synchronised, there will be some variation of light from frame to frame.

The question is, do all the NTSC cams have a setting of 1/50 shutter available, and do they allow you to fix it manually?
