Any PES C2L9 NSman?

wah kan sien. lol

you're also C9L9?

i read the FAQ on PES status... Seems like L1 and L2 have the terms "field deployment" but in L9 they left it out?

Anyway, they are so closely related, I don't see much significant difference!

Downgraded last yr..

My understanding - C9 excuse all form of physical training, L3 - can be deploy at field and take up arm, no need to Ching the hill.

L1 or L2 no much different from those combat fit - only thing matters is your physical pes status

i C9L2 already no need to chiong the mountains/hills/valleys, mainly becos i excuse all vigorous lower limb activities.

i get deployed as signaler in the HQ mainly. :(

just find it sad that i can no longer run/job without pain in the knees. i'll gladly return to PES A or B just to be able to run without pain in the knees as I love running and playing soccer.

now, I can only swim. sad.

wait long long :D

i C9L3 due to heart conditions and excuse range due to hearing loss. My recent reservist, I didn't went for field, range and IPPT. They threaten me they will not count my this ICT as served. Last day ICT, CO said, "next ICT out field i expect to see all put on Camo-cream".

I not happy, send e-mails to NS portal. One officer get back to me say my ICT is counted and ask if i want to change unit? He also said my PES is fit for Out field wor. I wonder if i excuse arms already still need go for outfield? :dunno:

Maybe the next one i just go outfield without arms :bsmilie:

I say your CO is a dumbass. He should show a bit of care and compassion towards your health. I wonder if these new generation of officers really care about their KPIs more than their men.

In times of war, I believe less able-bodied NSmen will also carry arms, no matter what is their PES.

I recount the time I broke my ankle during a POI defence mission on the 2nd last day of ICT. Got injured and stretched out back to camp Medical Centre in an ambulance just 2 hours before end of excercise that started 2 days earlier.

As my Company came back to settle arms, I was still in the medical centre waiting to be treated. The Medic gave ice pack for my swollen ankle which by now has grown to the size of a tennis ball. MO was still outfield and Regular MO was not around as it was 1am.

When finally MO came back at 2am, he take a look at my ankle and said 'Oh, just a sprain. Just put ice pack to bring down swelling". I knew something broke or crack in my ankle but just suffered until morning when it became unbearable.

I approached my PC and he called the regular MO to take a look. Immediately he sent me to Alexandra hospital for X-Ray which confirmed a crack on my ankle which requires a cast and use crutches.

I wondered if I've just listen to my MO advise then and suffered on my own. I knew that day was a Saturday and we are suppose to be outprocessed after 2pm therefore everybody including the MO is busy packing to go home.

But care and compassion should be observed, IMHO, as everyone of us NSmen is somebody brother, father, husband, son and friend.

Anyway, SAF sent officers to visit me at home for follow up report and paid for all medical expenses and months of therapy. Got PES C2L2 from PES B.

Depends on unit requirements too. We have C2L9 doing work in CQ, ration runner, clerk and, if I recall correctly, guarding the gate to exercise areas during the field camp.

this is the army. yes, you have a heart problem and you require rest. but L3 means you still are capable of outfield. just not the extremely tiring stuff and the real exercises. and yes, you still have to put on camo cream. unless you're allergic to it and is EX CAMO.

FYI, i've got one hilarious story.

there was this guy i knew while we were still in SI for our SPEC course. he had clubbed fingers, had some medical report done that he had heart problems. because of that he was first excused all PT, citing issues of breathing problems and blah blah whatever else. attention seeking bugger.

while i was serving the nation, i heard he sucked up to the 3rd DIV CO and team, and was promoted to 3SG without doing much. and he kept bragging so much about his rank that we Specialists were so pissed off because we worked hard for our's. i had utterly no respect for him.

and we found out that just after he ORD-ed he suddenly "recovered" and started playing soccer, running marathons and drinking alcohol like nobody's business and getting drunk a lot.

it happens bro. a lot. and that's why when you have a genuine medical condition, most officers won't take it seriously

Haha that is a bugger. For myself, I know what condition I have I take care of myself. When reservist come, they ask me do this do that, I will slap my medical report on their face. I'm a nerd, no drink, no smoke, no club, no sports.

You really attention seeker. BTW the term reservist is used less often nowadays, it's NSman. We are subjected to the same training regime as our NS counterpart, escpecially those combat vocation guys.

Sorry OT but when I was about to do my first NSman call up, many told me only do 100m range run down. BS big time, as it's 300m range rundown with my M203 rifle for the whole 13 year-cycle many wonderful outfield training. Also get to visit that hill in Pasir Laba.
