is anybody using either of these 2 cameras? thinking of picking up one of these on ebay cos of the exchange rates. ;p

i read about the 2 cameras online, but i can't really tell the difference apart from the difference in negative sizes.

I have the Fuji GW690 III. I did not bother about the 67 because 69 is more for general photography.
Perspective on 69 is about 35mm-40mm, but for 67 is more like the 45mm RF.
Both can shoot vertical with a portrait button.
Both uses the same lens 90mm F3.5 EBC. A heavy camera but can shoot vertical with a portrait button.

If you buy this camera, think of it as a LARGE FORMAT in a compact package.
Only 8 shots per 120 roll. Lens is sharp. But camera is darn heavy.

If you do professional picture archiving, this is a great camera.
Of the guys I know who own this camera, we all don't really shoot a lot with the 690...

These were taken in 2001-2002.

Shot vertical. See the bokeh. Many say its terrible.
Even with the advancement of digital, it may not have significant advantage now compared to old days of 6X9 negatives/slides.

Anyone tried the GSW690? I am rather tempted by the idea of a 28mm producing a 6x9 image.

Better to rent one than buy one.

Being there done that.

T Shutter? what is the problem?

When you want to do long exposure (more than 1sec), there is no "B" mode available. Instead, there is only "T" mode which the exposure is stopped by turning shutter speed ring on the lens. (Imaging how stupid the idea is!!!:sticktong) Try google "GSW690III long exposure" you would find a lot of discussion about this issue.

This is an irritating feature, but use of the lens hood to cover it up (thus stopping exposure) was a com thing to do.
Cover, advance level. Finish.

T is time mode, Most large format lens has a T mode for long time exposure. 1 click open shutter another click close the shutter. When you turn your shutter dial, it just release and close the shutter, not all of us used to such operation mode.:)

i found that the gw690 produced tones which were richer than the standard 6x6 format.

Yes. The larger the format the lower compression ratio of tone.

Exactly. On this 690 the operation is not as silky smooth as the LF setup.
Using a lens cap to cover up is easier with regards to this cam.

I have a GW690, trying to shoot more regularly with it.

Heavy, bokeh not as nice as I would like, only 8 shots per roll. Although no mirror slap, it is difficult to shoot at speeds slower than 1/30. very sharp.

Slides look really magnificent though.. huge.

Here are 3 shots, b&w, slide and negative:
