Trying to find out whether there are and how many minolta manual users there are here......

Hong Sien

Not too many, or so it seems.

Which proves my point: there should be a gravitation of all this crappy, ironclad, bulletproof manual Minolta equipment (such as these technologically limp and waaay too large and heavy X-1's and XM's) to underdeveloped countries like, for instance, The Netherlands.

I know of a stoopit Dutch photographer that will happily take your surplus.

cheers,

peter

(ps: you know who I am).

Ha! ha! dit is een goeie! Heb je hiervoor speciaal een usernaam aangevraagd? Ik ben benieuwd naar de reacties op deze post in het Nederlands!

Tot morgen! Ik ga nu echt slapen!

Hong Sien

Can anyone please explain what he's on about?

;) ;) ;) Krijg nou niks... een Amsterdammer!

No, really. Thus endeth the Dutch lesson for the day.

Hong Sien, I am still using my 20 year old X700. I also use XD7, SRT101 and SR7. My lenses are mostly Minolta ones but no very wide or very great telephoto lenses.

Thes days mostly use my Minolta Dimage 7i.

Hi you can buy the Seagull slr with Minolta md/sr mount. I bought a Seagull DF-2ETM camera body for less than S$120.00 new. It is a fully manual body with a meter showing - (0) + needle in the viewfinder.

I bought it from the distributor near Middle Rd but forgot the company's name.

really?can u give me the directions on how to get there so that i can go and check it out?thanks

Hi

Think i qualify, just me and my Dynax 5
and the good old x300, the one with more FE2, I mean literally more metal parts that the plastic.

Seems like it does not need lots of fancy stuff to take a 'GOOD' picture.

By the way, anyone have a good and reasonable XD for sale.

Cheers.

Well, I have been using my x-300s for about 11 years now... No complaints, still using them till today. in fact, I have a mini X series collection... heehee... 2 x-300s and 2 x-700s. You got to love them :D

I would recommend you get the x500 (X570 in USA) as well. Something between a X300 and a X700. Like the X300, the X500 shows the user selected as well as camera recommended shutter speeds in the viewfinder plus you can do slow speed sync with a minolta flash in auto mode, ie, the flash will not control the speed to 1/60 sec.

Myself, have X300, X500 and 2nos X700. The X600 is beyond me and unreachable.

I have used my X-700 for 15 years, and still loves it. However, been using more of Nikon AF in the last 2 years as MD lenses are limited locally. I have some accessories for X-700s such as off-camera cords (maintains TTL), dedicated Sunpak flash for Minolta TTL, 2X teleconverter etc. Let me know if any of you are interested.

Happy New Year!
