Haha almost all the pros I know uses the 85mm f1.2, the glass is simply different from the 50mm f1.8, the noisy focusing is also very annoying. Its a cheap fun lens to play with though.

Define what is considered as pro?

Hey hey, I'm new to photography. I am kinda interested to join the outing to know more people and learn new stuff. However, is it possible to do it with a compact camera? :/

If you are talking abt lens filter and wide angle macro converter, forget it.

Vivitar lenses are cheaper lenses compared to the big players. Many of their lenses (most of them nowadays) are contract manufactured by factories all over the world. Similar to Rokinon, Opteka. That said, Vivitar has some gems. But you really have to know which are the gems among the stones. ;)

ok back from my 100km cycling trips .. how is everything going here? pain abit buy at least a hoya slim .. throw vivitar lens filter on the floor and if it break then u r seeing shiny gems .. it is rare and u don see that often .. =)

I rather make it into a reverse lens adapter if I have to do it....

Read the first few posts before jumping to the last page.

I have no idea what the thread is about anymore...

Anyways, I shoot alone all the time and don't see any need to go with anyone. Hmmm...

This definition is too simple to define a professional

Any ah beng and ah seng can claim to be professional, by simply become full time photographer, just like those interior designer or artist or writer. Anyone can claim to be something.

So u know how many of those interior designers out there? 1001 of them.

My definition is the professional's work must be showcased and recognized by higher authorities, or had won some kind of international award and recognition.

That's your definition, doesn't concern me at all. You define it your way and I define it mine. If they can make a living out of their works, it's speaks a lot about their standards.

Just trying to tell readers to be careful of ppl who claim to be professionals.....

Thousands of them out there..... Never believe everything u hear.
