Is that u...

When doing long exposures better take out the filter if you don't need it, an extra piece of glass will usually lead to flairs or ghosting. Can try again next time:)

Long exposure must remove UV filter ar one ar?

Basically u remove the filter in low light or night shoots; whether it's long or short exposure

Typically, regardless long exposure or short exposure, when against a bright light source (e.g. Sun, Lampost at night, Bright Light Bulbs in Pasar Malam etc), it would be recommended to take the filter off and/or use a lens hood.

UWA lenses are quite prone to flares and ghostings.. :dunno:

Actually I prefer to shoot without a filter in all situations, I will leave the protection of the lens to the lens hood.

I like my 10-22 (w/o filter) quite hard to get ghosts even when shooting with the sun in the frame or straight at the sun :)

circular polarizing filter. Check out the filters stickies. Very good explanation.
It's not that expensive though. =)

If $200 for a CPL filter is not that expensive, I think most filters are cheap to you :bsmilie:

Sell your raybans. You can buy b+w cpl Liao. :bsmilie:

It only goes to show that if one (like me), knows nuts about the thing (in this case: ray-ban), it's worthless :sticktong :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I also don't know what is a CPL but I use an Oakley:bsmilie:

Ask you all, is it true that nowadays, because of technology, there isn't a need to buy expensive filters like B+W because low end ones can archieve just as good results as B+@

Not really true, you have to account for workmanship and materials used. For example a tianya ND filter will produce a horrible magenta cast compared to a lee which has very slight colour cast which is easier to PP away.
