A newly open called Baikohken at North Canal Rd (Opposite OCBC Building / in front of Circular Rd). Famous Ramen shop from Sapporo.
Yet to try but according to feedback from my many colleagues, it is good.

Armed with this info, I made my way down for a late lunch yesterday. Field report:
At 2.45pm, I was the only customer till I left at 3.10. Sat at the counter and observed the preparation of my ramen. The aircon was probably lowered, with the heat from the kitchen and the hot soup and ramen, I was trenched after souping up the bowl when I left.
Typical ramen shops do not serve everything like Waraku, at best a gyoza (dumplings) or rice as side dish. The menu is simple with a few options, soyu, salt and miso. Ordered a miso char-siu ramen and got served after 10 mins. The miso soup is tasty, distinct taste of pork bones and with a layer of oil floating in the bowl. The noodles is thin to my disappointment, lacked the springy bite thats typical of ramen. More like Kiusu style, with a very Tokyo taste. The thick slices of char-siu were cooked to perfection with an unbelievable generous serving. On the counter, theres a tray of seasonings and flavours, even the ice-water container and cup used reminded me of the typical ramen shops in Japan.
Very full and satisfying meal, gave dinner a miss in the evening. Its the not the best that Ive ever tried, but very good as its in Singapore. I planned on trying the soyu and salt on my next trip.
The average bowl starts at $11-12, I paid $16.30 (+GST) for my miso ramen. 800yen ($10) will get you a very good bowl in Tokyo, its pricey going by our living standard. For the craving, it's worthy.
